Chapter o2.
After packing up and saying goodbye to the Hyder family, I had a long conversation with my mother. She told me it would be good for me to be adult free. She also said that maybe Matthew and I can become best friends again or worse, a couple!
We were leaving right after school to the ski resort. Hopefully, there will be teenagers my age that will be there. I don't want to be stuck with /him/.

I woke up and got ready for school. I went downstairs with my bag. "Oh, honey, Matthew is taking you to school. I also gave him the directions to the ski resort. I hope you two will have fun! It will be a great experience for you and Matthew. Please be safe! I love you," my mother said as she kissed my forehead and hugged me. She was in a rush since she was leaving today. I hugged her back. "Bye mom! Have a safe trip!" I shouted when I was outside.
Matthew drove right infront of me. I put my bags in the trunk of his silver BMW. I got into the passenger seat and buckled myself in. "Are you excited for this winter break vacation?" He asked as he drove off. I didn't answer.
Does it seem like I'm excited? I just wanted to tell him that I was angry because I was going to be stuck with him! My mother promised that I wouldn't talk to him ever again! Lies! After this painful vacation, she's going to pay! Three full weeks with /him/! I shuddered at that thought.
"I'm excited for this winter vacation," Matthew smiled. He smiles? Since when?! All he ever does is smirk! I shook my head trying to keep his smile out. This pain in my ass is being friendly. Why is he being friendly?
Maybe he wants to get in my pants! Oh that jerk! I got to think of some plans to get him. I smiled evilly while thinking these evil schemes.
"Uh, Sapphire? Are you alright?" Matthew's voice interrupted my thoughts. "What?" I asked. "You look like you're possessed or something," Matthew said. "Oh, I smile like this all the time! Get use to it, buddy," I said as I clenched my teeth.
Breathe in and breathe out. We can do this. I mean I can do this. Matthew finally parked the car at the school's parking lot. I got out and girls were swarming by his side of the door. Jackass. I went inside the school and went to my locker.
"Sapphy!" Camille shouted as she skipped up to me. Sapphy was my nickname to her. "Yes Camille?" I asked. "Err, why were you with Matthew Hyder?" She asked disgustedly. "Ah! Don't speak the devil's name!" I said. "Why were you with /him/?" She asked again.
"Long story short, I have to spend my winter vacation with /him/," I said. "You have got to be kidding me! Ma- /Him/! With /him/!" She shrieked. I put my hand over her mouth to shut her up. "Wow, sucks for you," she said smirking. I glared at her.
"Yes it does. It's painful! And we have to share the same cabin together!" I hissed. She started laughing uncontrollably. "Wow, you're life sucks!" She hollered. "Camille! Shut up! You are so damn loud!" I hissed.
"Sorry, but it's hilarious how you're sharing a cabin with someone you despise so much," she said. "I can see you yelling at him and breaking his neck," she continued. I probably would end up breaking some sort of bone of his.
I laughed at the idea of breaking his bone. Camille shook her head when she saw my evil smile. The bell ran signaling that we should all get to class.

The first three hours were done and it was time for lunch. The day was going by quickly and I hated it. I wasn't looking forward to the trip anymore. It was lunchtime right now and I was sitting with Camille, Jacky, Fantasia, Chris, Garrett, Kyle, and George.
I played around with the soup infront me. "Having a bad day?" Kyle asked me curiously. I nodded. "She's going on a winter vacation with Matthew Hyder," Camille answered for me. I glared at her. "Er, I mean with /him/," Camille said quickly.
"Oh! That sucks balls!" Fantasia said. The guys nodded their heads in agreement. They all knew how much I loathe /him/. "I most definitely feel bad for you," Jacky said. "Thanks for your concerns but it isn't going to get me out of this horrible situation," I said solemnly.
Camille perked up. "I know! I know!" Camille started waving her arm madly in the air. "Is it something that will help cheer me up?" I asked. She nodded her head. "Okay, let's hear it." She took a deep breath, "How bout we come with you! Well, not in the same car but we can meet up with you! And then, you don't have to be with that ass all through winter break!" I thought about it for a moment. It's not such bad suggestion.
"Not a bad idea at all Camille but who will be going and who will be staying?" I asked. "Well, I'm not doing anything over winter break. I'm pretty sure my mom would let me go," Camille answered. "Same here!" Garrett replied. "I can't. I'm going over to Arizona with my family," Jacky said giving a small smile to me. "It's fine," I assured her.
"I can go," Kyle said giving me a smile. I think Kyle likes me. Whenever I look at him, he always smiles. He comforts me and he always agrees with me. He's cute, I admit. "Yeah, I can't go," said Chris. "I can go!" Fantasia chirped. "Me too!" George said excitedly.
"Great! It's settled then! But I can't share a cabin with you since my mother already reserved one for me and /him/," I grimaced. "It's fine. But we can snowboard together!" Fantasia said grinning. I nodded my head at her suggestion.
We talked about the trip and what we were going to do. They said they were going to come in tomorrow. Jacky and Chris were discussing what they were going to do over winter break. Lunch ended finally and we could hardly wait.

I slammed my locker shut. I have to spend the night with /him/ tonight. I hope there are two beds. There's no fucking way I'm sleeping with him. If there is only one bed, he can sleep on the damn couch. Am I being rude? Yes. Do I care about being rude? Hell no!
"Hey Sapphire," I heard Kyle's voice from behind me. I turned around and smiled. "Yes?" I asked. "You uh forgot your book in biology," he said nervously. "Thanks," I said as opened up my locker again to my book in. I turned around and Kyle was still standing there.
He walked besides me as we went into the parking lot. We started talking in our little group. Camille kept talking about how excited she was about the ski lodge. She hasn't even asked her mom yet. But knowing her mom, she'll say yes. I hugged everyone as I saw /him/ walking into the parking lot with some girls.
Typical. I hugged Kyle last and he held me longer than normally. Matthew was looking over our way but went back to flirting when he saw me looking at him. "Bye guys," I said as I departed from them. "See you later!" I walked up to Matthew's car and got in. He finally got in after 5 minutes of waiting.
"So you and Kyle, eh?" He asked. "What?" I asked confused. "You two dating?" He thinks Kyle and I are dating?! "Uh no! We're just friends," I said. He didn't say anything afterwards.
During our 2-hour car ride, it was living hell! Occasionally he would check his hair in the mirror making sure it looked perfect. He wouldn't shut up how fun it would be at the ski lodge. We would get into arguments a lot. Him starting it.
We stopped at a gas station and he got out to put gas in his car. I got out and went to go get something to snack on. I grabbed Dr. Pepper and Sun chips. I paid for them and went out back to the car.
I took a sip out of my Dr. Pepper. He eyed me. "What? Got a problem?" I asked. "Let me have a drink," he said. "No. Get your own damn drink. You have money and legs," I said. "Baby, you'd be lucky to be sharing a drink with me," he said smirking. "As if, you conceited jackass," I retorted.
He rolled his eyes. "Were you really planning on committing suicide back at your house yesterday?" He asked. "Yeah. I was going to hang myself in your room as a gift," I said. "Well, I would like your gift," he said, as he looked me up and down. "Ew!" I punched him hard on the shoulder. "Easy there! I don't need bruising on my arms," he whined. "You deserved it, pain in the ass," I muttered.
