Disclaimer: If I had a this country's debt in reverse, aka positive numbers, I'd buy Rick Riordan so I wouldn't have to put this disclaimer here. I do not own the songs.
A/N: if it has parenthesis around it, Annabeth's singing. (This only goes for the DUET)
A/N 2: I'M NOT A DIRECTIONER! I like their music, but it doesn't mean I'm a huge fan. Swear on the River Styx.
Songs this chapter:
•Airplanes
•Don't Forget
•Rock Me

Percy

Seeing her had nearly killed him. Now the had to perform together on stage.
When he'd last seen Annabeth in person, she was this young, 17 year old who had since matured in nearly ever way possible. She's grown nearly six inches, she'd gotten the feather extensions in her curly blonde hair, she just looked older in general. Watching concerts on a small iPhone screen was one thing, but writing a song with someone was another.
The night of the concert had arrived, and the two were in their dressing rooms backstage. Percy completed the look by slightly messing his hair up, which he always did.
When he stepped out of the dressing room, Annabeth left hers as well. Percy had to do a double take; there was no way this was the girl he'd practically grown up with. In her 3/4 length sleeve red shirt, black skirt made of lace tendrils, black high-heeled boots, red hoop earrings, and professionally curled hair, Annabeth looked unbelievably beautiful.
"You look great," Percy stated.
A blush rose to Annabeth's cheeks. "Thanks, you too."
"You ready for this?" Percy asked, peeking out carefully into the large audience.
"Honestly, I'm nervous," Annabeth admitted. "I've never performed Madison Square Garden before."
"Never?"
She shook her head. "Hey, I hear we're performing these songs at Camp Half-Blood too tomorrow night."
"Really? I can't wait to go back there!"
"You're on ten," the stage director alerted them.
"Let's do this." A smile spread across Annabeth's face.
"Let's go rock this duet," Percy declared. "They'll never be able to forget tonight."

The two walked onstage, an unforgettable pair. A cheer rose from the audience.
"Hey everyone," Annabeth announced through a microphone.
"Are you guys ready to hear our new duet?" Percy asked.
More applause.
"I'll take that as a yes," He said.
"This is called Airplanes," Annabeth stated, the pre-recorded music playing in the background.
"(Can we pretend that airplanes
In the night sky are like shooting stars?
I could really use a wish right now
Wish right now,
wish right now
Can we pretend that airplanes
In the night sky are like shooting stars?
I could really use a wish right now
Wish right now,
Wish right now)
Yeah, I could use a dream or a genie or a wish
To go back to a place much simpler than this
'Cause after all the partyin' and smashin' and crashin'
And all the glitz and the glam and the fashion

And all the pandemonium and all the madness
There comes a time where you fade to the blackness
And when you starin' at that phone in your lap
And you hopin' but them people never call you back

But that's just how the story unfolds
You get another hand soon after you fold
And when your plans unravel in the sand
What would you wish for if you had one chance?

So airplane, airplane, sorry I'm late
I'm on my way so don't close that gate
If I don't make that then I'll switch my flight
And I'll be right back at it by the end of the night

Can we pretend that airplanes
In the night sky are like shooting stars?
I could really use a wish right now
Wish right now, wish right now

I could really use a wish right now
I, I, I could really use a wish right now
Like, like, like shooting stars
I could really use a wish right now
A wish, wish right now..."
The crowd burst into applause immediately. The gods heard it all the way from Olympus. Athena and Poseidon were proud of their children, where Aphrodite was simply excited to see 'Percabeth' together again.
"Thanks, everyone!" Annabeth exclaimed. "I have another song called 'Don't Forget'."
She picked up her guitar, set the microphone back into its stand, and began to play her song, with Percy playing piano in the background.
"Did you forget
That I was even alive?
Did you forget
Everything we ever had?
Did you forget?
Did you forget
About me?

Did you regret (did you regret)
Ever standing by my side
Did you forget (did you forget)
What we were feeling inside?
Now I'm left to forget
About us

So now I guess
This is where we have to stand
Did you regret
Ever holding my hand?
Never again
Please don't forget
Don't forget

We had it all
We were just about to fall
Even more in love
Than we were before
I won't forget
I won't forget
About us

Somewhere we went wrong
Our love is like a song
But you won't sing along
You've forgotten
About us..."
The song perfectly expressed her feelings toward Percy. She had poured every emotion she'd experienced into the song, causing the audience to feel her pain, yet not knowing who the song was written about. Some audience members began to tear up, some were full-on crying, where others applauded as loud as they could.
"Thank you!" Annabeth was nearly in tears herself. "And now to Percy," she choked up slightly saying his name, "for his new song!"
The two switched spots, Percy singing and Annabeth in the background with her guitar.
"Do you remember summer '09?
Wanna go back there every night,
Just can't lie, was the best time of my life,
Lying on the beach as the sun blew out,
Playing this guitar by the fire too loud,
Oh my, my, they could never shut us down

I used to think that I was better alone,
Why did I ever wanna let you go?
Under the moonlight as we stared at the sea,
The words you whispered I will always believe

I want you to rock me, rock me, rock me, yeah,
I want you to rock me, rock me, rock me, yeah,
I want you to hit the pedal, heavy metal, show me you care
I want you to rock me, rock me, rock me, yeah

I want you to rock me, rock me, rock me, yeah
I want you to rock me, rock me, rock me, yeah
I want you to hit the pedal, heavy metal, show me you care
I want you to rock me, rock me, rock me, yeah!"
When Annabeth stepped up front with Percy for the closing, the crowd cheered harder than before in the entire concert.
"KISS ALREADY, IDIOTS!" Somebody screamed from one of the close-up rows.
Annabeth rolled her eyes, identifying the voice as Leo's.
"Thanks, everyone!" She exclaimed.
"Goodnight!" Percy closed it off entirely.
The two ran backstage, still hearing the sounds of applause.
"That was awesome," Annabeth breathed.
"Tell me about it!"
"I had fun, Seaweed Brain," Annabeth have Percy a quick hug. "Tell Hannah I said hi."
"I did too, Wise Girl. See ya," Percy ended it by returning to his dressing room.
Annabeth sighed. She just couldn't catch a break, could she? Falling for someone getting married in a month? Gods, she hates Aphrodite sometimes.
