Blair’s Point of View:

I was awakened by the beep of my phone. Stifling a yawn, I looked around and realized that I accidentally slept at work for about forty five minutes.

Thank God Drew was not around.

Disarranged piles of papers and folders were scattered on my desk. I rubbed my forehead with both of my hands as I let out a long breath in frustration. I bobbed my foot, tapping my fingers endlessly on the top of my desk, glancing over the time as I counted down each second left until I do my business.

Oh yeah, I have a major plan against Mr. Morgan. Well, it was not really a very clever plan but that was the only thing I thought of at the moment. I can’t just stay here doing nothing.

So my plan is to go to his office… again, to open the mysterious vault. It may sound incredibly dumb and risky since I got caught in the act once but that vault can be the key in this assignment.

I just hope this works.

My thoughts were cut off by the beep of my phone. I quickly responded, shuffling inside my bag, rummaging my phone. Once I found it, I slid the unlock button as Drew’s name flashed through the screen.

I pressed the phone in my ear. “Hello?”

“Uhh… Blair?” Drew’s raspy voice rang through my ears. “Do you have the contract samples?”

I laid my hand on my hip as I looked around, thinking back, remembering where I left it. “Let me see, wait a second.”

I bit the inside of my cheek, recalling where I put it. I crouched down to be in eye level with the cabinets as I pulled them all open. I grabbed the folder and shut the cabinets up. Opening the folder, I flipped the pages as I browsed for the contract samples. Luckily, it was there.

I rapidly went back to the phone. “It’s here.”

I heard drew sigh. “Thank you Blair, you’re a life saver. I thought I lost it.”  He then chuckled.

“So do you want me to send it?”

“Uhh…” There was a long pause. “Yeah.” Drew muttered. “Okay… So I’ll meet you at the office.”

“Alright.”

“Okay bye.” He said.

“Bye.”

After a few moments, Drew arrived at the office. He wasn’t alone, he was accompanied by someone. The guy lifted his head up as we looked at each other. He carelessly swept fringe over revealing his bright blue eyes. His blonde hair shone like a bulb of light as he cracked a little smile. I glanced over at Jason that made my cheeks blush as I found him gazing at me from head to toe.

I cleared my throat, making Drew snap back to reality. “So, these are the contract samples you need.”

He beamed a smile. “Thank you so much.”

“Uh, by the way.” Drew gazed at the guy behind him as he let out an audible snort.

“This is Jason. He’s my friend.”

Jason stuck out his hand, grinning cheekily at me. ““Hi, I’m Jason. Jason Somers.”

I nodded. ““I’m Blair, Blair Collins.”

God, why am I always awkward whenever I meet new people.

Drew giggled as me and Jason introduced ourselves with each other.

“Again Blair, thank you.”

“No problem.” I smiled.

“Alright, see you around.” He uttered, clearly they were leaving.

“Bye.”

“Bye.” They both said and soon their voices drifted away, leaving me in peace.

I sighed profoundly the moment Drew and Jason left the room. Glancing at the clock once again, it read 4:45 PM, which means I still got two hours to stay at the office.

I still have two hours….

To open the vault.

I inwardly cursed. Good luck to me.

Walking on the same hallway, I gently opened Morgan’s hell hole, I mean office. Every time I try to go in the room, it’s always cold, dark and gloomy. I quickly went to where my purpose is located. Examining the vault, I slightly stooped down to observe the keypad and the lock. Groaning inwardly, I shook my head in frustration.

There are millions of possible sets of number so how the hell am I going to guess the damn four digit number code?

Pressing my lips into a thin line firmly, I looked around to find and get a capable hint.

“Shit... Shit.” I breathed out as my hands started to sweat, my heart beating as if it was being chased. “Where the fuck am I going to start?” I hissed though gritted teeth.

Maybe Morgan wrote the number code somewhere…

Standing up, I slowly opened all the drawers, avoiding to make unnecessary noise. Leaning once again over a bent knee, I started to shuffle inside the drawers, scrambling through all the things until I find a useful and helpful thing to open the vault. After about two minutes, I found nothing.

Yeah, nothing.

What kind of a flop spy am I?

I inwardly groaned in desperation. The things I only found on the drawers were just office supplies and some old papers. Sitting down on the chair, I bit my lip while I cupped my forehead with my hand to think of more possible places on where Morgan put or wrote down the code.

This shit is fucking hard.

Where in the world did the bastard put the damn code?

Frustration radiated through my whole body. Growling in annoyance, I nonchalantly collapsed my head on the table causing the piles of pen to fall when my hand accidentally hit them.

Great, now they’re all scattered under the table.

Letting out a breath, I stood up from the chair, crouching down as I bent my knee to gather all the fallen pens under the table. Gently leaning further, I was now under it to grab the last remaining pen. I was reaching it when something appeared from the corner of my eye. I can see something engraved on the leg of the table. Narrowing my eyes, I rested both of my hands on the floor and started to crawl, going to the other end.

A sultry smirk formed on my face until it transformed into a devious smile.

The things engraved on the leg of the table were numbers.

“Holy shit.”

Those were the first two words that came out from my mouth when I read the numbers.

1 2 5 6” I repeated on my mind.

Regaining my composure, I rapidly stood up and sprinted across the office to the vault.

Nice try, slick.

Typing the number code, I heard a slight click after, meaning that it was opened. The moment I turned the knob, my mouth slightly gaped as I found lots of money bundled together. There were sealed envelopes also, all unopened. Everything was just basically a miscellaneous. Taking out my phone from the depths of my pocket, I quickly snapped a picture of what was inside the vault. Maybe I could use it in the future. I took only one envelope so it won’t be obvious that someone opened the vault. Hopefully, this can help solve the case.

Good job, Blair. You’re halfway there.
