Chapter 6

It all happened so fast...

They didn't even see it coming...

It was just so out of the blue, no one would of guessed this could even happen.

As Longclaw peeked into the young male's room she watched the small hedgeling who was snuggled up into Leo's belly while sleeping soundly with Blast and Suzen laying around him as well as if trying to keep him warm.

He looked so peaceful...

She frowned a bit as a single tear rolled down her cheek before she closed the door to his room.

Maurice happily went to class with a large smile on his face as he had managed to get accustomed to the school after going to it for 4 months as it was now the fall season so the young 9-year-old was wearing a bright red scarf around his neck that Longclaw had made for him.

He loved the little gift she made it filled him with a tone of pride and she even hand crafted it to be extremely unique so no one would mistake it for they're's.

Even though he wasn't planning on taking it off anyway.

The young male soon gave his homeroom teacher Mrs. Howord a hug and then went straight to his desk with a joyful wag of his tail.

His teacher gave him a soft smile glad to see that he was getting more and more comfortable with his school life and was doing much better than in the last first months. So with a gentle smile on her face, she went right back to welcoming the other students into the classroom to which some would either hug her or give her a high-five then went to their seats.

Then after a while, her class had begun as she started to pass out little worksheets for them while also informing them of what they would be learning today.

With a bright smile on her face.

"Ok, now that everyone has their papers please do take out your pencils and I'll explain everything as much as I can for you all and if you have any questions feel free to ask as many as you need," she says her tail wagging softly before turning to the board to write down a few of the papers questions.

Maurice happily took out his pencil and the first thing he did was write his name down.

Until his ears perked up and he glanced over to the window confused as to what he was hearing as his eyes looked around but when he saw nothing he turned his attention back to the front.

When his ear twitched once more but just decided to ignore it.

*Pup! Tell everyone to duck down right now!!*

"Huh?" Maurice says earning a few of the student's attention "duck?" he muttered as Mrs. Howord glanced over her shoulder "is there something wrong?" she asked wondering who was talking at the moment.

*Duck as in Get down! Tell everyone to get down Pup!*

"Oh!" Maurice says when his ears perked up agian and he looked out the window when he saw Leo looking panicked so he understood and got up from his desk earning more of the student's attention.

"Maurice?" his teacher questioned "Everyone Duck!" he shouted out which startled the others while he got down and covered his ears.

Somewhere confused while others went ahead and followed suit "Mau-" Mrs. Howord didn't get a chance to finish her sentence when she heard a loud explosion that caused her and many others to soon quickly get down as well.
