"Oh. Well, yeah. I am." I admitted it slowly, running my fingers through my chestnut hair, watching as the mirror reflected the way they waved down my back.

"I knew it." We both laughed. "Well, hurry up then. I expect you here in fifteen." The familiar end-of-call beeping indicated that he had hung up and I hurriedly picked a random dress and a random pair of high heeled boots. I grabbed my handbag and whacked on a light layer of makeup. I then grabbed my keys and stumbled out of my door and down the stairs.

Fourteen minutes and thirty-five seconds later, I was up in our joint office. Jayson looked up and eyed my outfit and laughed. "Wow! Since it takes you at least ten minutes to drive here, that outfit must have taken less than five."

"Actually, it took seven and I sped through lights on the way down." I dropped my handbag down on my desk and walked over to his and grabbed his plate of sandwiches.

"Mmm. These are nice. Did you make them?" I stuffed a finely cut sandwiches into my mouth and spun around in my chair.

"Hey! Those were mine." A protest came from beside me and I gave him a sideward glance before replying.

"You know if you didn't make me get up and out in less than fifteen minutes, I could've had breakfast." I looked at him pointedly and nodded continued to chew happily on what were now my sandwiches.

"Fine." He groaned from beside me and eyed what was originally his plate of sandwiches and sighed.

"I hate to break your lovely meal of stolen sandwiches but those three huge piles of papers?" He pointed on the far side of my desk, where there indeed sat three huge piles of papers.

"What about them?" I grabbed another sandwich and eyed the huge piles of papers.

"Well, you have to read, sign and stamp all of them by the end of today, otherwise its overtime for you." He nodded smugly at the papers and then glanced at his sandwiches. "But if you give me four pieces, I'll make a few exceptions." He wriggled his eyebrows, wondering if I got what he meant.

"Deal." I grabbed four pieces and placed them on his desk.

"Thanks, I'll stay with you during overtime and but I won't sing songs."

"W-what? You said you were making a few exceptions."

"I never said what exceptions."

"Urgh. I now get why you do most of the business deals. That wasn't fair though. I'm supposed to be able to trust you."

"May God bless you." He laughed wickedly and returned back to the document he was reading.

"Urghh." I looked back at the three piles of documents in a new light. I picked up the first one. Big black block letters headed the page saying, "New Year's Fashion Show Prep". New Year's Fashion Show Prep? New Years? New Year's like half a year away! Urghh. I scanned through it quickly before signing, stamping and starting the newly established READ document pile.

After a long seven hours in the office (and yes, I had to skip my lunch break), I got up wearily and headed out. Jayson popped his head in and said his goodbye before going to lock up while I went home.

I flopped down onto my armchair and started to relax when the landline rang again. I massaged my temple before picking up.

"Hello?"

"Hi! This is Reni right?" A chirpy voice came through which I instantly recognized.

"Ahh. Yeah and you're Kylie right?" Kylie was an old classmate from high school and since she's calling, it could only mean one thing ...

"Yeah! So you remember the reunion we had three months ago? Well, apparently it went so well so everyone's meeting back up again next Thursday. You can make it right?"

I rolled my eyes at how she just assumed that I could make it, not that I would say no. But even if I didn't go, like one person out of the entire grade would miss me.

"Yeah sure. Next Thursday, right? Same place as last time?" I quickly grabbed a sticky note and scribbled down the info, then placing it on the wall.

"No. The last place was too small, we're changing to a formal reunion in Thorne Hotel. The one on George Street. In the Peacock Hall." I sighed and grabbed the sticky note, scrunched it up and chucked it out before writing it another one.

"Okay. I'll be there. See you Thursday?" She giggled on the other side.

"Yeah. Bye Reni."

"By-" She hung up before I even finished saying it. I didn't even have the energy to feel pissed. I just placed the handset down and headed to the bathroom for a shower. By the time I could flop down on my bed, I was dead tired and feel asleep, dreading work tomorrow. I actually hid one pile of papers in the cupboard and I could just imagine it sitting there right now, taunting me.
