Dex And I A Thing?

I couldn't believe what my ears where hearing.

He likes me?

I mean liked!

my heart started pounding when I manged to say in astonishment "you did?"

"yeah and I kinda still do…" He said while blushing.

OMG DEX IS BLUSHING!

"you DO??!" I said still astonished.

"Nicole what's taking so … oh hi Dex!" Abby said when she found me.

"Who are you?" Dex said squinting his eyes like he doesn't recognize her.

"um… Abby" Abby said while feeling embarassed that he doesn't remember her screaming his name and then pointed at me and made kissy faces just to annoy me in fifth grade.

"Ohhh the girl who knew I liked Nicole"

wait what?

"Abb's?" I said turning to look at Abby who was squirming away from my gaze.

"Abb's!" I screamed.

"uhhh well I was going to… and then I was about to… until he went out with Jodie"

Jodie. The girl who thought she can have anything. And her thoughts were true.

"wait. Are you and Jodie still a thing?" I said feeling quite sad.

"no we broke up when she moved to Florida before High School" He said looking down at his shoes.

"oh i'm sorry" I said realizing I have no idea what to say next.

"it's fine I liked you better … but i'm guessing you have a boyfriend right?" Dex said sadly.

"actually I don't" I said while thinking of Jacob for some odd reason.

"well I was wondering can I go out with you?"

My heart pounded like crazy.

I was planning to get ice cream, not a boyfriend!

"sure" I said cooly.

He broke into a smile. A real warm one. One that could turn you from sad to giddy.

"wow how long have I been gone?" Abbs said with a questiony look to me which stands for 'What about Jacob?'

And technically I have no clue. But one things for sure

hes just a step brother.

After we all got ice cream Abby headed home while Dex came to my house.

when I walked in I saw Jacob smiling. And when Dex walked in Jacob frowned.

weird.

"who's he?" Jacob growled.

woah I was too shocked by his aggresion to answer. Luckily Dex did for me.

"i'm Dex" he said while entwinning our hands together.

Jacob saw it and frowned again.

"Dex this is my step- brother, Jacob"

Jacob cringed for some odd reason.

"And Jacob this is my boyfriend"

"Your boyfriend?" Jacob asked shocked.

"Yeah I asked her out today" Dex butted in.

I smiled when Dex squeezed my hand making me relax.

"so…" Jacob said not knowing what else to say.

"Dex want some Lemonade?"

"yes please" Jacob said

"I was asking Dex" I said confused.

"Why, I can't have some?"

"well you can…" I said trailing off.

"yes, I would like some" Dex said finally.

"well okay" And as I left the room I could feel the tension growing.

Hmmm why is he acting so strange?

Probably he's acting all big brotherly.

When I came back with the lemonade. They were staring at each other intensly.

When they heard the ice cubes in the lemonade cups shake they both looked up at me. With the same look in both of their eyes.

Want.

I guess they really wanted the Lemonade to cool their tension.

"So did you give him the big brotherly talk Jacob?" I asked awkwardly.

"huh?" Jacob asked while looking at me intensly.

"y'know…" I said trailing off.

"oh, right"

****** Jacobs POV *****

I can't believe she's going out with Dex!

Dex the guy who partied all night.

Dex my worst enemy.

After she left to get Lemonade I told him to never touch her again.

guess what he said?

i'm her step brother so she will never like me that way!

wait

is that true?
