Chapter Five

After my reflections time, I got up off of my bed and walked over to my computer, turning it on. I logged into my facebook and checked my wall. I had a lot of messages, so I went through them one by one and started to reply.

When I got to the final one, I saw it was from the school's quarterback, Josh Reynolds.

Josh isn't some arrogant jock. He is really nice, smart, and funny. He's down to Earth and never bullies anyone.

His message was from the day I got hurt. I clicked on my chat, saw he was online, so I clicked his name and typed him a message.

Me: Hey Josh, what's up?

Josh: Not much. R u ok?

Me: Yeah, I'm fine. I just got a very minor concussion and they wanted to monitor me overnight.

Josh: That's good.

Me: Yup. Hey, how is footbal going? I'm pumped 4 the game on Friday!

Josh: lol. Yeah, I'm pumped 2, and football is going good. Ur lucky, u get to cheer and dance, while I just run and tackle people!

Me: lol. Nice

Josh: Yeah ikr. Hey, do u maybe wanna hang out on Saturday?

Me: Sure, sounds great. Wanna make plans tomorrow during math?

Josh: Yeah. C u tomorrow.

Me: Bye

I logged off of facebook, changed into my pajamas, and then fell asleep in my bed.

The next morning, I woke up to my alarm playing Usher in my ears again. I slapped it off and went to my closet and opened it.

I pulled out a pair of ripped Abercrombie jeans, a loose racerback top with multi-color splashes, and then a loose black shirt that was draping and cute. I pulled them on, jammed my feet into some black flip flops. I pulled my hair into a deep side part and brushed my bangs back and clipped them so they would stay off my face. Then I put on some simple mascara that made my eyes pop, and then I ran downstairs to the kitchen.

My mom set a plate full of eggs, toast and bacon in front of me, along with a cup of hot chocolate. I pushed my eggs around my plate, taking a couple of bites now and then. Then I took a couple sips of hot chocolate.

"Ready to go Mom?" I asked.

She glanced at my plate and frowned. "Aren't you going to eat anything else?"

"No, I'm going to grab a snack at school," I said, grabbing my backpack.

"Alright, let's go," she said, giving me a strange look. I smiled and then walked out to the car. We picked up Karla, and then we drove to school.

We walked in and started waving hello to people, and then we went to our lockers and grabbed our stuff. We walked to homeroom and sat down next to each other, talking.

"So, do you want to go to the skating rink on Sunday? It's open skate from one to four, so we can get a few other people to come, too," Karla said. "I looked this morning."

"Sure, sounds great. We've got rehearsal tomorrow for choir, and then at five we've got cheer practice. Then on Friday we've got the football game at seven. Good thing we're at home this week! And it's the playoffs." I said, laughing a little. "Oh, wait. Josh asked my out for Saturday. Maybe he can come skating!"
