You and Bucky had been trying to have a baby for months but every time you took a pregnancy test it was negative.

Negative, negative, negative.

Everything was fine with the two of you, fertility wise. His swimmers were fine, your womb was ready to bear a child but still you were having trouble getting pregnant.

The worst part wasn't seeing negative on every test you took every goddamn time, although it always stung you a bit, no. The worst part was to go over to your husband and tell him you weren't pregnant. He always got his hopes up although you told him not to.

He would be smiling really big, waiting for you outside of the bathroom and when you come outside, he'd take a hold of your arms and he'd have this hopeful look on his face as he asked what the result was. All you'd do was shake your head and immediately the smile that was shining bright on his face would disappear. He would take you in his arms and kiss the top of your head. "Soon it will say positive," he'd assure you. "Soon."

You were doubting the sincerity of his words. You were wondering if he actually meant what he said. You were starting to lose hope...

You had taken another pregnancy test, waiting for the timer of your phone to go off. You were pacing back and forth in the bathroom, holding the test in your hand.

You couldn't even bring yourself to look at the test when the timer went off. I don't want to see another negative, you thought to yourself. You were starting to feel sick. If I see another negative I'm going to throw up. You set the test on the counter and put down the lid of the toilet and sat on it, covering your face with your hands.

You heard someone call for you and you stepped out of the bathroom. You saw Pietro standing in you and Bucky's bedroom. "What is it?" You asked and closed the bathroom door.

"There's a problem."

"What problem?"

"Kitchen emergency."

You sighed and ran your fingers through your hair. "Piet, what did you do?"

"I tried to bake and things got messy."

You huffed, placed your hand on his back and led him out of the room. "Let's go." You said and headed to the kitchen.

As you finally stepped in your eyes widened. "Oh, my God!" You yelled as you took a quick scan of the room. Almost every inch of it was covered in batter and flour. "How the hell did this even happen?"

Pietro only shrugged.

"Okay let's start cleaning up then."

Even though you didn't have kids, sometimes you felt like you were already a mom. A mom of bunch of little rascals called the Avengers. Whenever they made a mess, you were there to help them clean it. Whenever few of them were fighting with one another, you were there to help them solve their problems. They sometimes acted like little children and although it got on your nerves big time, you still loved them.

After hours of cleaning the kitchen was finally clean. You and Pietro both sighed in relief and sat down at the dinner table. "So you want something to eat?" You asked. "Because I'm starving."

"Didn't you eat most of the batter?"

"Yeah," your brows furrowed, "but I'm still starving."

"What are we going to eat?"

You sighed, "I'm too tired to cook. Let's order something." You said and reached for your phone.
