How to improve your writing in each chapter.

1. Proper grammar and spelling.

If you have a great plot, awesome characters, and it's an original story that's awesome- but if it has all those things and not proper grammar... No thank you.

Do not- abbreviate words. Don't say "aw thnx I love u 2" say "aw thanks, I love you too." Unless it's a text of course.

Do- proofread. Fix your typos and make sure your words are spelled correctly. People get annoyed when there are 3000 words misspelled.

Do- capitalize properly. I can't stress this enough.

Do not- use run on sentences unless a character is talking and they're rushing their speech or whatever. Seriously, if I'm reading and you're describing something, I need to see proper punctuation otherwise it's actually difficult to read!

Do- use proper punctuation. Again, no run on sentences and no periods randomly placed at the middle of a sentence.

Do- frequently change paragraphs. When someone new is talking, change the paragraph. When you're talking about a new topic, change the paragraph. Do not make it one big huge paragraph!

2. Bold and Italics

Use bold and italics appropriately. I'm not your English teacher and I'm certainly not going to give you another lesson like I did up there. (HA)

But I'll tell you this- do not use capital letters for emphasis on words or anything like that. If you don't use bold and italics it looks sloppy no matter how good it is.

Do not- unnecessarily use these text features. It's just as annoying as not using them at all.

Every device is capable of changing words into bold or italic. It shouldn't be a problem but if it is, hey, whatever.
