Here we are to interview Octopus_Uprising

Tell us a little bit about yourself
(Name, age, personality, likes/dislikes, ect.)

Hello, there! My name is Miranda but you can call me Mira. I am 21 years old and I live in Sparks, Nevada. It's Nev-aaaaa-duh, not Nev-awww-da.
I am aspiring to become a published author.
Writing is my passion and when I am not at work you can usually find me glued to my laptop screen or my phone.
I am a government conspiracy theorist but I am not too far off the deep end.
My favorite things are writing, reading, crafting, and antiquing. I also love music, Disneyland, movies and TV, art, history, traveling, camping, hiking....I think you get the idea.
I am a perfect mix of introvert and extrovert. I have an overactive imagination, a touch of Dyslexia, I am a philosophical thinker, and I love to help other people.
I am a Christian and I owe everything to God.
I dislike tomatoes, dirty bathrooms, math, and bullies.

Why did you decide to join Wattpad?

I stumbled across the sight and fell in love with the fact that I could read all of these amazing novels, and write my own as well-completely free!

How did you come to like the genre of VAMPIRE?

My good friend, Addicted2Fantasy24 (I usually refer to her as 24) introduced me to the genre and I grew to love it. I also watched that movie, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

What inspired you to write a Vampire novel?

24 and I are collab partners and we decided to create a satire in the Vampire genre.

What advice would you give to new authors?

Not to read, study, or mimick other authors too much. While taking some pointers from them can be great, copying other authors too much will result in the oppression of your own writing style, and your work will come out as a mess of other authors' writing personalities.

What have you been told is your writing strength, and what do you believe to be your writing strong point?

I have been told that my writing feels very natural and real.
As far as what I think to be my strength? Probably my descriptions. I have spent a lot of time honing and polishing my descriptive skills, so I think that's probably my strong point when it comes to writing.

Which book that you've written would you consider to be your favorite?

Definitely Under Control. I haven't uploaded it to Wattpad yet, but I probably will soon. It is the very novel that sparked my Author's Fire, as I prefer to call it. I have a lot of feelings towards the government so I decided to write a dystopian novel and Under Control was born. It is my baby; my very favorite out of all of the books I've ever written.

What is the one book, either on Wattpad or published, that you cannot put down?

I'm A Cyborg's Pet by
The-Scrivener and RebMoreau. It is a hilariously funny satire about Artificial Intelligences taking over the world and enslaving all of mankind. Definitely a PG13 rating but very well-written. My laughter did not cease throughout the entire book.

When did you start writing?

In the summer of 2007. That's when I first started writing silly stories with my best friend.
But I didn't take writing seriously until November 6th, 2012.

Why did you become a writer?

I write because I want to inspire other people. I want to change the world, by making others think about what we are doing, who we are, and most importantly, the impact that harsh words and abuse can have on a person. I write because I want to leave this world a little bit better than I found it.
