She's a lost young soldier,
Separated from her squadron,
Lost in enemy territory.
This is not her first battle,
But she has yet to fire her weapon.

She does not know the ways of a  fighter,
She never learned the tactical moves.
All her life she longed to be trained,
But her guide, her mentor,
Was taken from her long before he had the chance to show her
What needed to be done.

So many things he could have taught her,
Ways to protect herself, to outsmart the opposition,
All lost in the blink of an eye.
She was but a child when her mentor was lost to her,
Completely unaware of her destiny.

For years afterward she denied her true path,
It reminded her of how much she needed him.
So she tried to pave a new road for herself,
Desperately trying to forge a new future.
No matter how many times she failed, she persisted,
She could not bear the thought of being a student with no teacher.

Until the day came when she heard the voice of her guide,
Speaking through the body of another.
Turning away, she saw her master's face in a stranger.
Full of fear, the poor little soldier could not comprehend
Why this was happening.

It did not take her long, however,
To realize what was going on.
Her guide had been with her all along,
She carried him in her soul.

When others spoke,
She heard the way it would sound coming from him.
Their actions mirrored his.
For he never left her, he had survived in her heart,
Teaching her through others.

So she lifted her weapon,
Rose from the shelter of her camouflaged hideout,
And scoured through to the battlefield,
Reunited with the others dressed in their fatigues,
Ready to implement the lessons given to her by her guide.
