Chapter 6

I walked through the bridge and found myself hidden from view of the base. I watched for a moment as the humans walked back and forth, searching for any signs of an intruder. They were about to get the shock of their life.

I transformed and quietly drove onto the road. Soon, I came to a stop in front of the security gate. The human in the structure to my left opened the window.

"Name," he said in a bored tone.

"Nightstrike," I replied.

"I don't know what kind of name that is, but you're not on the list. I'm gonna need to see some I.D. and hear your point of business."

"My face is my I.D." I grinned menacingly as I transformed and saw the look of terror on his face.

Soldiers started to run around in a panic. Brave ones fired on me, but to no effect.

"Call the Autobots!" one of them shouted.

I groaned. "Got to be quick..." I began to search around for a plane that I liked. I punched through hangar doors. I finally found the perfect one and scanned it.

As soon as I finished downloading the schematics, the Autobots came running through a ground bridge. Before they could finish assesing the situation and figure out where I was, I transformed and took flight. A couple blaster shots were fired, but I easily dodged them. Soon,, I was back on the Nemesis's flight deck.

I walked in the communication center. Megatron was at Soundwave's side, their backs to me.

Once the doors closed, the warlord faced me. "you've returned. And with wings. Good. Soundwave was hacked into the base's communication while you were gone. It would appear that you caused a lot of chaos."

I waved it off. "It wasn't that much. I just got what I wanted and got out. Humans are just so easily panicked when it comes to new or different things."

"You would know," he replied.

I giggled. "Yes. Well, I'll be in the medical bay if anyone needs me."

"Hello, Knockout," I greeted.

"You've been gone a while. I was starting to wo-" he had turned around. "Oh, I see. He made you get wings. I must say, they are lustrous, Nightstrike."

My spark fluttered. "It's Commander Nightstrike now, but thank you."

His optics widened. He hurried over to the computer and looked me up. Sure enough, there was my name, picture, and title.

"By the pit! It's true!" he exclaimed as he spun around. "Did you ever ask Megatron what he meant by his actions?

"Yes, actually. He is fond of me because he hopes I will provide him with an advantage over the Autobots. Nothing more than that."

He visibly relaxed. "Good. that means you don't have to explain that you don't feel the same way about him." He paused. "Or do you? You didn't answer the question before you were called away."

"No, I don't have feelings for him," I answered simply. I wasn't gonna say the other part of my thoughts.

He let out a barely audible sigh of relief. What was up with him today?

A grumbling Starscream walked in carrying the humans in three individual containers. He tossed them carelessly onto a berth. "Megatron says the humans are staying in here until he figures out what to do with them." he stopped next to me, glaring angrily. He said quietly, "I will get my position back, even if it means I have to eliminate you to do so." He left without another word.

"Someone's not taking their demotion very well," Knockout observed.

"You could say that." I sighed as I set the humans' container upright and moved them onto a table. "I'm not too worried about it, though. Sure, he's unpredictable, but he's Starscream. He's a wimp at best."

He chuckled. "How right you are."
