Free Verse: Drunk
I love everything you say to me
Even when you've had a couple beers
And you're a little drunk
Though I sometimes wish
It was me on your lips
And not the booze
But lately you've told me
That I'm a little boring
And if I keep breaking your heart
We'll both end up
In graves we dug for one another
And sometimes I think
That it wouldn't be so bad.
And just when I get used
To the idea of
Never seeing a face like yours again
You pull me right out of the dirt
And back into
Your tangled up mess of thorns.
