THIRTEEN

Brielle

"Ms. Brielle?" I heard a soft yet shaky voice calling out after me

They started to softly shake me. My eyes fluttered open as I looked to the right of me over at the door and saw a scared Julian holding a bunch of balloons and bears. I smiled and opened my arms out to him

"Come here boo." I called after him

I cleared my throat, my voice was raspy and dry. Julian hesitantly walked over to the hospital bed and laid his head on my legs. Oh my god this boy is too cute! I heard him sniffling as I watched his shoulders slightly move up and down.

"Julian!" I cooed

I say up on my bed and picked him up from off of the floor and sat him on my lap.

"Don't cry boo, I'm okay." I reassured him

He snuggled up to me wrapping his arms around my neck

"Ms. Brielle, I was scared when Chad told me what happened. I made sure he dropped me off here to see you." He said in his little baby voice

"Aw!" I cooed again, I guess that's the only thing I can do around this boy

This little boy that I only knew for about a month got me in tears! I wish I could take him home, Oh my god I would love if he was my brother.

"I love you so much Julian!" I exclaimed pulling him into a hug

"I love you too!" He said kissing my cheek

Julian is such a ladies man! I care about this boy so much, like he's my own blood. Julian gives me life everyday. I'm atually suprised he said it back!

"Knock, knock." I heard a voice say while knocking on the door at the same time

I moved Julian's head slightly as I saw Chad with a big ass brown bear in his hands. It made me smile for a little bit.

"Hey Brielle. You doing good ma?" He asked closing the door behind him and setting the bear on the chair next to the bed

"Yeah I'm good. Julian, give your brother and I a little time please?" I said smiling at him

"Okay!" He said jumping off of the bed and running out the door

"Don't go too far!" Chad yelled after him

"Chad. What the hell happened?" I asked adjusting my self to face him

"Y-you got shot in your leg ma. I'm so sorry that I put you in this position." He said sitting next to me in the bed and putting his face in his hands

"Chad, don't worry it's not your fault. It was a drive by." I said reassuring him and rubbing his back

He then pulled the sheets off of me and showed off my big ass cast on my leg.

"It's not! I put your life in danger Brielle. You could have got brain damaged! You hit your head so damn hard on the concrete. I was scared I was gonna loose you." He admitted

"Chad, no! It's okay, don't beat yourself up!" I said pulling him in a hug

He pulled me closer to him and wrested his hands on my waist. I just rested my head on his shoulder. I never thought I would see Chad like this. He usually has that bad boy, nonchalant demeanor, I would have never thought I'd ever see this soft, passionate, caring side of him. I slowly let go of him as his shoulder's drooped.

"Oh come on Chad! When I get out of here, we're gonna chill at your crib with Julian and hang aight?"

"Brielle! You could barley walk!" He said bringing me back to reality

"Well damn, you ain't gotta bring a nigga down like that. Shit." I said pushing him off of the bed playfully

He just looked at me and chuckled "Aight, It's just you, Julian, and I when you get out. Deal?"

"Deal!" I exclaimed smiling hard

The door then opened and then appeared my mother. I gasp in excitement. I haven't really seen her because of the summer job I took up.

"Mommy!" I exclaimed

Chad just snickered from beside me

"Baby! Oh I'm so glad you woke up!" She exclaimed running to me and gave me a hug

She then pulled away and looked at Chad, raising her eyebrows. She cleared her throat and straightened out her trench coat. She never goes anywhere without that thing. I sometime think that she's an undercover stripper. Don't judge my thoughts, she has the body for it.

"Oh hello, and you are?" She said stretching out her arms to him

"I'm Chad, nice to meet you Mrs. Vasquez." He said shaking her hand

Mother fucking impressive! Smooth Chad, smooth. But Vasquez? How the fuck this nigga know my last name? I gotta talk to him about that.

"Your the one who saved my daughter!" She exclaimed pulling his in by his shoulder, embracing him into a tight hug.

He chuckled and hugged her back, he took the hug by suprise.

"You can call me Bella for now on." She said smiling at him then winking at me

I groaned and shook my head. The door then opened yet again and revealed Julian. He strolled past my mother and walked beside my bed stretching out his arms. I pulled him up and sat him back on my lap.

"Hello again Julian!" My mother exclaimed

"Hello! Are you Brielle's mommy?" He asked sweetly

"Yes I am." She replied

"Mother, how do you know Julian?" I asked

"I was just about to ask you that. Anyways I met him by the vending machine and gave him a dollar because the soda machine took his." She then looked at her watch. "Oh! I have to get back to work! Brielle hun, daddy is coming for you. Someone needs to sign you out."

"Okay, I'm going to Chad's after, if that's okay with you."

"Okay, I trust him enough. When you get home we have a lot to talk about!" She said pointing at me and walking out the room "Bye Julian and Chad!"

"Bye mom!" I yelled after her

"Bye!" Chad and Julian said

"Be careful!" And with that she left

"Your mom is cool." Chad said finally speaking

"Yeah, I know." I said smiling at the previous spot she was standing at

"So is Brielle coming to our house?!" Julian asked excitedly

"Yeah she is." Chad replied smiling

"Chad, how do you know my last name? You keeping tabs on me now?" I asked moving my eyebrows up and down and knudging him in the side

He just laughed. "Julian is the one keeping tabs."

"Nigga I got it!" I said waving Chad off as he tried to help me out of his car

"Damn, you pissy as fuck when you handicapped." Chad said putting his hands up in surrender and laughing

I ignored him and took the crutches out in front of me and hopped out the car. I was hopping on one leg trying to close the door. Julian then closed it for me as I got comfortable on my crutches. I smiled at him and ruffled his curly hair. Chad lead the way to his house as I followed him. Julian followed next to me as he got a hold on my belt loop. This boy is too adorable!

Chad helped me up the porch and took the keys out of his pocket and opened the door.

"Chad?! Is that you?" I heard a young voice called after him

"How you got ya girls over here knowing you was gonna have company." I said flicking him in his ears, which I find I tend to do often

"Man that's my cousin. Calm down." He said waving me off

He tends to do that shit a lot too! Bum ass. In walked a girl that I thought I would never, ever see again. Gang bait hoe, Skai.
