Although he must have been gone hours, it looked like that no more than a minute or two had passed here. Xynthrax gave a short nod at Geoff as he walked into the room and closed the door behind him. They quietly stalked over to the door leading out of the room and opened it once more.
Again the light and warmth in the room dimmed as the strangely alive mist rolled in and out of the abyss. After Xynthrax made a gentle beckoning gesture with their hand, Geoff confidently strode into the doorway. Once he had safely passed through the threshold, they carefully shut the door behind him. He was now alone in this cold, mysterious void.
Geoff continued to walk in silence for a short while, before getting bored and he paused for a minute or so to collect his thoughts. As he stood and thought, he began to whistle absentmindedly to break the silence which seemed to shroud this place. Suddenly he heard a set of footsteps quickly approaching him and turned around to meet them.
