"Show me!" She yells.
"Maya jump off!" Josh shrikes when she grabs his shirt and he almost lost his balance.
I go behind Maya and pull her off of his back. Both her and I fall on the floor but I had Maya sitting on top of my stomach. "Maya," I say as I try to breath.
She looks at me like I'm stupid. "Geez, I weight like a feather. Stop overreacting Riles." She stands up and gives me her hand to help me get up.
Josh is in front of us and I step back to see the scene in front of me with mom, dad and Auggie behind me.
Maya walks slowly up to him with a half-crazy-smile and her eyes wide open. Whilst Josh is walking backwards, also with his eyes wide open, and his arms in front of him to stop her from jumping on him again.
"Maya.." Josh warns.
The expression on Maya's face stays the same as she says, "Show me the stomach."
"You're crazy."
"Marry me."
Josh furrows his brows, "Your too young for me, Maya."
"And you're too old, but you don't see me complaining."
Dad walks up to Maya and grabs her arms to keep her from running up to Josh again. If he wouldn't had start talking about those biceps and stomach, she would've done just fine.
"Auggie, take Josh outside if you want him to live." Dad says as he tries to hold Maya back. She is snuggling to get out of his grip with her eyes glued on Josh.
"I am actually enjoying this. I wanna see if Maya wins this," Aiggie shrugs and walk past us and over to Josh. He takes his hand and they walk out.
When the door closes, dad lets go of Maya. "Are you okay now, Maya?"
She sighs and smiles at us, "That would've ended bad. Thank you, Matthews."
"No problem, Maya." Dad holds his hand over his heart and let's out a deep breath I'm sure he didn't even realise he was holding.
Maya gives me a nod -for what I have no idea-. I furrow my eyebrows at her and she rolls her eyes, nodding her head towards my room. I'm still a little off and have no idea what she means. Why can't people just say what they mean instead of making things so complicated?
I tilt my head to the side. 'What?' I mouth.
'Bay window, Riles.' She mouths back and I can feel her mentally slapping her forehead. It's this connection we have, you know? Best friend with best friend sorta thing.
My mouth formed the shape of an 'O' and I made my way over to my room with Maya walking in front of me. When I stepped inside my room I closed the door carefully and walked over to the bay window, taking the seat next to Maya.
She didn't talk. I didn't talk. It was silence. A good silence, not like the one between me and Lucas one week ago at the party. That was awkward. This isn't. This is a good silence where our mouths aren't speaking, but our minds are. That reminds me, I haven't seen him all week in school.
