After I texted my mom I headed straight for Derek's cabin. If anyone could make me feel better it's him. "Derek!?" I call when I get to his cabin. I walk in. He's not in there, but his headphones are. He never takes those off! So I figured maybe he went swimming, so I go to the dock. He's not there either. That's when I heard snickers coming from behind me. Rebecca and Amy great. The two people who laughed at me my first and second day here.
"Are you looking for Derek?" Amy laughed. "Yes I am. Have you seen him?" I asked. "Indeed I have." She said. A long silence. "Can you tell me where he is?" "Somebody didn't look close enough at the lake." Was all she said and then she walked away. The lake? "Hey!" Amy called "Heads up!" She said as she threw some binoculars at me. I held them up to my eyes and started looking for Derek.
I soon found him sitting in a canoe with my roommate Max. What? What are they doing together? Derek sees me and he waves. Seriously?! I am almost in tears and I start walking away to my cabin. Is he cheating on me? And then rubbing it in my face? Why does god hate me?! I'm balling my eyes out when Derek and Max come into the room. "What's wrong?" Derek asked. Seriously? "So are you two like a thing now?" I asked. They both laughed.
"Oh my gosh no!" Cried Derek. "Max is my sister!" Oh my gosh. Now that I look at them I can see the resemblance. I'm so stupid! "Oh." Is all I can say in return. So he's not cheating on me. What a relief. I have enough things to worry about. I'm glad Derek is not one of those things.
