I was staring out the window, wishing my mom would turn the car around and go to our old house. We've been driving on and off for days now. We visited popular places on the way like the Grand Canyon. The motels we visited weren't the best I did enjoy the quality time with mother. The memories we were making are great, but I don't know if it could replace the ones we made back home. The further we went, the more I realized I was never going to step a foot in that house again. I kept trying to look at the bright side, but there wasn't a bright side. I knew being the new girl at school was going to be hard; I'm gonna have to start all over again. Making new friends, joining sport teams, and worse of all; proving to everyone that I can do anything I put my mind too.

"Meg," my mom begins interrupting my thoughts. "I know moving away far from home can be hard, but I want you to try and stay positive... Please." There was a small silent pause "for me" she pleaded.

I think about it for awhile. Then I start to realize that my mom did so much for me when I was a kid. The least I can do in return is try to stay positive.

"Yes, I will do my very best to stay positive."

She softly smiles at me and continues driving.

I look back out the window. I start imaging how my new would look like and how many new friends I'll make. After awhile my eyelids become heavy and I fall asleep.

"Meg honey, wake up. We're here." Mom said in the sweetest voice ever.

I open my eyes but I couldn't hold them open. I try again, and this time it worked. I stared straight ahead at my new home. It was bigger then my old house, and the neighborhood seemed peaceful. The house itself stood out the rest of the houses on the block were all white with pretty basic surroundings, but ours was a peach colored house with fresh tulips planted on the yard. I got out the car and opened the trunk. I began to take out some boxes. Most of our boxes and furniture was in the U-hual, but it haven't arrive yet. Mom went inside to check on the U-hual while I stood outside taking out the little bit of boxes we had with us at the moment. As I was outside, a group of boys about my age walked by and started to stare at me. Not really knowing what to do, and not wanting to stand there awkwardly, I reply with a gentle smile. They all start smiling and waving at me. I turn back around and continue sorting through the boxes until I heard a light thud on the concrete below me. I searched the ground while I held on a box. For the life of me I couldn't find the item I dropped. Not wanting to waste anymore time searching for it I shrugged it off and continued for the front door to place the box down.

Then I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turn back around and see a handsome boy right behind me. I was stunned.

"Excuse me, you dropped this." He says as he looks down at his hands and realized what he was holding, his eyes widen as stared down at my baseball glove. He dragged his finger across my name that was engraved on the leather. "Is this yours, Megan?" He asked with an eyebrow raised, his full lips curled up into a small smirk.

I take the glove and smile down at the beat up leather. The memories came flooding back to me with fondness. "Yeah it's mine." I smiled out. "I used to play all the time back home."

"That's so cool, me and my friends-" he tried to say, but was cut off by his friends that were still waiting.

"c'mon Benny! We don't have all day!" Someone behind him yelled.

I look back trying to detect which said it but at this point they were all whining and complaining.

"I'm sorry" he tried apologizing, but I began shaking my head. "No it's okay. I have to finish unboxing and help my mom anyways" I tell him while smiling warmly.
