I just have to say that yesterday was a disgrace. Lundqvist played the best he could with the effect of neck spasms. Our defense sucked. Marc Staal was out with the flu and I feel that him being out is the reason we didn't play well. Lundqvist did not return to the bench after 2nd intermission. Rangers lost 4-1 with 3 Shittsburgh goals in a little over two minutes. Kreider with the only Ranger goal assisted by Zuccarello and McDonagh. Oh, talking about McDonagh. So this is what happened to Lundqvist.
So, play is breaking out towards Lundqvist. Lundqvist follows the puck. McDonagh losses his balance and pulls Lundqvist down hard. He slowly got to the net while play went down towards Fluery. Lundqvist is looking at the refs to get a whistle cause he was hurt. 3 on 2 works it's way back down and Lundqvist is mad that he didn't get a whistle. So, he looks at the ref and turned around an through the net off the pegs. I laughed so hard! The. Lundqvist got penalized for delay of game. "I think he did the right thing. I think it was absurd that he got penalized for it. If you get hit in the head as a goalie, can't get to the bench for a line change. If your seeing stars, or can't see the puck, you have no other option. It was the wrong call and I felt bad for him." In the words of Washington's goaltender Brandon Holtby. I officially love Holtby now! I've never had more respect for Holtby, EVER! #MadRespectForHoltby
Rangers take on the Capitals tonight at the Verizon Center at 7:00 pm eastern time. Raanta will be in net for Lundqvist with Magnus Hellberg to back him up.
