Hiccup's shocked expression faded. It had faded into one of pure happiness.

"You know what?" Hiccup replied, his smile getting wider. "I think I did!"

And he laughed. And the Berkians laughed. The laughter filled the room and reached the roof in true Viking style.

After the good hearty laugh, Gobber, announced, "Well, I believe it's time to get this party started!"

The entire congregation cheered and the band, who had been practicing all day, finally played a catchy folk with most of the party got up and danced to. Hiccup shook his head, chuckled, and ran to join his friends.

The party was full swing. Half the congregation had gotten drunk, and the other half were stuffing their faces with the treats on the food table (and by other half, you really just meant the twins and Snotlout).

Hiccup, taking another drink of water, smiled at the commotion in front of him. Sure, he had big birthday celebrations, but none this big. He had come a long way from being the village hiccup.

He had just about finished his mug of water, when his vision suddenly obscured by something. He frowned a little, wondering what it was, before his face softened at the sound of a beautiful voice.

"Follow me," you whispered in his ear, tying the dark green blindfold firmly around his eyes. It had taken you to get on your tiptoes in order to reach his eyes - he was starting to get really tall.

"To where, milady?" Hiccup asked, a small smile forming on his lips. You giggled and took his hands, leading him out of the Hall and outside, into the dark night sky.

"Seriously, (y/n), where are we going?" Hiccup chuckled, bringing one hand up to his face to fiddle the blindfold. You noticed and abruptly brought his arm down.

"Hey!"

"Don't - we're almost there," you reassured, reaching your destination - the forge.

At this point, you slowed down on your walk, and loosened the blindfold around Hiccup's eyes.

"Are we there yet?" Hiccup whined playfully, making you laugh at his adorkablness.

"Nearly," you answered, your face bright with anticipation.

After a few more seconds, you stood in front of him Hiccup and slowly undid his blindfold, letting the green fabric flow as you caught with your hands.

"Happy birthday, love," you smiled, moving out of the way so your boyfriend could see his gift - and as soon as he did, his eyes widened in shock and awe.

In front of him, on the table of his study, was new armour.

It was mainly green and brown, with two belts and many different flaps and pockets to store important objects, such as notebooks. One of the shoulder pads, had a crimson emblem on it - the same one Hiccup put on Toothless' prosthetic tail.

"I. . .I started making this around December," you explained bashfully. "I-I wanted to make it perfect for you.

Hiccup was in amazement. His jaw went completely slack and he couldn't form a proper sentence.

However, you took this the wrong way, thinking he was feeling negative about the present, so you quickly added, "Uh, I-I also made something else. For-for you."

You scrambled in one of the drawers for Hiccup's additional present, sighing in relief when you found it. You picked it up and presented it to your boyfriend.

"I, um. . .I also modified you sword," you said, feeling more self-conscious by the second. "I made it so it can now light up, like so. . ."

You pressed a button and the blade was immediately engulfed in flames, "Hideous Zippleback gas did the trick," you muttered proudly.
