Song: Immortals by Fall Out Boy

Camp Half Blood
1600

Going back to camp after eight years was admittedly difficult.

I'm twenty-six now, even though technically Annabeth and I both accepted partial immortality at nineteen along with the rest of the heroes of the war.

As I walk through the borders, passing an ever familiar dragon and pine tree, I am immediately greeted by an extremely surprised Centaur. This is all pretty nostalgic, I must say.

"Percy my boy!"

I chuckled quietly. "Great to see you as well Chiron."

He looked me up and down, slightly shocked at my appearance.

"You clean up well." He stated.

"Ah, the suit? Requirement of the job."

It's not like I ever actually wear the tie or button the shirt all the way.

"What are you up to nowadays?" Chiron asked me.

"I'm an accountant." I deadpan, putting a serious expression on my face.

Chiron looks at me in surprise and confusion, then begins laughing.

I smile and start laughing with him.

"Okay, so what do you really do?"

"That is, ironically, classified." I laugh. My fatal flaw won't let me lie to him wholly, so I just leave out some information.

He stares at me in disbelief, then laughs at the irony himself.

"You are just one best kept secret aren't you, my boy."

"You can say that again. Have the others visited recently?"

"The hunters arrive tomorrow, Nico came by just last week, Annabeth left a few hours ago, and the Romans as well as Piper stop by about every other day thanks to the portal between camps you asked for."

I smile at that, and internally grimace at the thought of Annabeth being here recently. I refuse to let the emotions show, however, and remain calm.

"I suppose I'm the last to join the party, then?"

"It has been a while, what kept you?"

"This is my first day off in two years, ever since..." I trailed off.

"Yes, I heard about Sally and Paul. I'd apologize for your loss, but we both know that never helps."

"Thank you, now if you don't mind I would like to change out of these clothes and meet up with some old friends. I only have a week of vacation!"

"Of course, Percy."

With that I head to my old cabin, nodding to Mr. D as I pass him.

"Peter Johanson. You've finally returned."

"I see you haven't changed at all while I've been gone, Mr. Diet Coke." I reply smoothly, continuing on to cabin three as hints of anger and respect flash through his eyes.

I enter my cabin to see that not much has changed, save the thick coat of dust that envelopes everything.

I use my powers to turn the fountain back on, and use droplets of water to wash everything without soaking the place, a task accompanied with a slight tingle in my gut.
