Chapter 18- Never Fear When I'm Here

Start from the beginning

I was feeling pressured, my friend was stuck inside a trash can and I couldn't think up of anything because she was constantly demanding me to get her out of there and it felt like everyone was counting on me. What was I supposed to do?

Francine placed a hand on my shoulder, "There's got to be something,"

I gave her a sarcastic smile, "Of course, why don't we just cut her arms and legs off?"

I heard Tar gasp, "You can't be serious!"

"Oh, I'm totally serious," I rolled my eyes and heard Tar whimper.

"Can't you just be serious for once in your life?" Gal scowled.

I opened my mouth to retort but Francine interrupted, "I agree with him. I'm sorry, but this isn't a matter to be joking around about,"

"I want to keep my arms and legs," Tar sniffed.

"Why're you like this?" Francine asked, concerned.

"Because James is right, she's crazy. Completely crazy," Gal snapped, irritated.

"I don't think Jess is crazy, she's really fun," Tar commented.

"That was really rude of you, Kevin," Francine scolded him.

"What? I'm stating the truth!" Gal defended.

I gripped my hair as they kept arguing, and groaned in annoyance, "Ugh, just shut up, everyone! Shut up, shut up, shut--" I kicked the trash can in annoyance, making it tumble to the floor, "Up!" I heard Tar yelp from inside.

"No, you can't tell us what to do!" Gal kicked it hard, making it roll away towards the road.

I was about to retort but that was when my ears started acknowledging Tar's distant screams and I froze. Gal also realized this at the same time I did and our eyes widened as we turned our direction towards where Tar's trash can rolled off to.

Tar was screaming as she kept rolling down the road, a good distance away from us.

"Shoot!" I exclaimed dashing off to catch up with the rolling trash can, France and Gal followed after me as I ran faster than the speed of light.

"Guys, help!" I heard her scream. Aw man, we were chasing after a trash can, in the middle of the road! I hope that there weren't any cars.

"We're coming, Tar!" I shouted, trying to run faster. Shoot, shoot, shoot.

Tar's trash can headed towards the busy road, where the cars were constantly driving and my eyes widened in panic. Double shoot, double shoot, double shoot!

I gulped as horror washed through me, was this the end of my ever-loving best friend?

I shook those thoughts away and pulled on a determined expression, she wasn't going to die on my watch!

I shot forward, and lessened the distance between the trash can. She was nearing the busy road, but I had to get there, and fast.

I stopped running for a moment and looked around. Gal and Francine ran past me, still trying to catch up with Tar.

As if luck was on my side, I spotted a kid that was watching the scene in astonishment and video-taping the whole thing. But that wasn't what caught my attention.

It was the skate-board that he had under his foot.

I rushed towards him and yanked the skate-board away from him, making him fall on his back. I placed the skate-board on the road and placed my foot on it.

"Hey!" I heard the kid protest before I took off.

I pushed myself forward, faster and faster. Tar's trash can was slowing down, but according to me, it wasn't going to stop until it reached the busy road. The beast.
