Adison's POV:

A silence falls over the room of cops and deputies, all looks I'm receiving are a mix between sympathy and curiosity, just burning into my green eyes, trying to pry whatever information they can get. A scribe, writing down every thing I have said, is shaking.

Tears are running down my face as I continue to stare down at my bruised arms, and gnaw at my lip, which already tastes of blood. Although I didn't look, I already know Maddie's eyes are burning into the back of my head, and I hear her sigh. The sigh could've been from pity of my situation, or just regretting everything she has done. Right after the sigh there comes an immediate sob, and she loses it right there in the chair behind me.

One of the officers hands her a box of tissues, his eyebrows drawn together, with me looking up ever so slightly with hooded, bloodshot, eyes.

After clearing his throught, he hits me with another question, him probably having a million after hearing my story, "I'm very sorry to hear all of this," more tears fall from my eyes as I make intense eye contact with him, "but I do need to know where the gun he used came from."

I wrap my arms around myself as more strangled sobs leave Madeline, his attention being drawed to her as she whimpers out her words.

"There was one in my apartment," She's practically hyperventilating with emotion, "a-and I didn't even think of it, o-of him," the stutters that leave her lips make everything she's saying very rushed, "of him using it on himself."

The scribe writes more down, glancing at the video camera recording all of this in case the court needs this for reference. My gaze falls back to the floor, I didn't even know he committed until I got to the police office, half conscious, with Maddie gripping her hair, as she listened to the officer who went to her apartment to go and get him.

"gun shot wound to the head, the gun range was way too close for it to be from anyone else, it was a last minute suicide." I remember the officer replying, nothing but disturbance on his face as Maddie got weak.

"When did it happen?" her voice was frantic speaking to the man who was supposed to arrest him.

"As soon as we announced it was the police and that he was under arrest, we heard a mixture of cries and before we could do anything the gun went off."

A fire of anger, and pure confusion boils from within me, causing me to mumble something that would probably shut the whole room up.

"Shawn was probably going to use the gun on me, but decided he needed it more."

My voice is monotone as I say this, and one of the officers slump against a wall, trying to take the whole situation in. The only other reaction I got was Madeline's sniffles and a deafening silence.

As everyone avoids to make eye contact with each other, it being too uncomfortable to do so, and none of the police officers has come up with more questions to ask me, Madeline speaks up.

"When I was driving you here," her voice cracks and all she sounds is weak, "how come you were mumbling for me to not have me take you?"

Glancing up I see everyone's faces twist with bafflement, probably thinking why, after all I've been through, I wouldn't want to go.

"B-because," I turn back in my chair so I'm facing her, facing the woman that probably feels the same torment as I do, "I still wanted him to love me."
