We were at the gate now, I turned to him and glared, ''They're fine jeez!''

''Wait!'' He caught my arm and held me back, grinning. ''They're flying in every direction.'' That was the weather's fault, not mine. I made sure to smoothen them when I left home.

''I thought you were into that.'' He knew what I was talking about and flinched,

''Lana and I aren't like that.''

I huffed, ''I'm not stopping you guys from-''

''I know it was wrong to bring her without telling you. But she was getting off work when I went to return the DVDs. And she said, she had nothing to do, she doesn't have any friends.''

I just stared at the sky, arms crossed over my chest, ''Whatever, it doesn't matter.''

''She helped us too, she's not bad. And...wait. Are you perhaps jealous?''

''That's it, we are done.'' I once again tried to go in and he held me back, firmly grabbing on my arm, laughing his head off.

''Okay, I'm sorry. But let's fix your hair first.'' I gritted my teeth and crossed my arms over my chest as he began to run his fingers through my hair, straightening them. Which was stupid because my hair were already dead straight.

''Done, yet?'' I asked.

''Almost.'' He muttered, smoothing a hand over my bangs. I waited as he helped them look a little normal when I spotted Oliver Parker. He was entering the gate too, and he paused to look at us before going in. Rhodes had his back on him, so he couldn't see Oliver and I pretended I didn't either.

After two seconds, Oliver scoffed and went inside. The hell was his problem? I stared at his retreating back, unable to look away. The memory of him at the Cafe flashed through my mind but I pushed away the thought as soon as it came. I couldn't let Linda put stupid ideas in my head, specially when it came to Oliver.

''Rhodes, you are hardly a hair dresser. Can we go in before we run late?''

''Let's go.'' He finished and clapped his hand.

''I haven't forgiven you yet!'' I called as he walked ahead.

He glanced back and grinned, ''Aye, aye.''

The room was buzzing with thrill, mostly because we were finally going to start preparing for the competition. Mr. Flynn would need to explain us the rules and how each round would work. They might even give us rooms to practice. The thoughts energized me and I wasn't so sleepy anymore.

Rhodes and I sat beside Lana, who was looking as impressive as always. She had taken off her piercings and wore a nose ring only. She glanced at us and smirked,

''What happened to your hair?'' It took me a second to realize she was addressing me.

''I thought you fixed them!'' I cried, turning to Rhodes.

''I did! But it was difficult without a comb.''

''You need a haircut.'' Lana said, gauging my face.

I touched my hair, they were long and reached till my waist, resembling a black curtain. Okay, that was a total exaggeration, but with the bangs, my hair framed my face completely.

''I'm not letting you take away my hair.''

Lana rolled her eyes, ''What am I? A witch? I'm just saying that a cut will suit your face. Since you're a little round, and your cheeks are puffy-''

''My cheeks are not puffy-''

''They are.'' Rhodes remarked, clearing his throat.

''I'll deal with you later.'' I warned him, but it didn't stop him from smirking.
