Chapter 15- I'm The Only Exception When It Comes To Normalcy

Start from the beginning

I shrugged, grabbing the remote and turning on the TV, "You realize that I don't care, right?"

He smirked, "I kind of figured,"

I averted my gaze to the TV, kicking my legs up the table and flipping through the channels. Until Keith asked another question.

"Why're you in a dress?"

I huffed, "Well, we had guests over so my mom told me to change into a dress," I tried not to remind myself about what Keith had said earlier.

He laughed, "You ditched your guests?"

I smirked, "They weren't worthy of my time,"

"Well," Keith stood up and I looked at him, "I think I'm going to go get some snacks," He jabbed his thumb towards the direction of the kitchen, "I have company coming over in a few as well," He walked off.

I turned off the TV and went after him, entering the kitchen as he opened up some cabinets and pulled out some snacks.

"Who's coming over?" I asked.

He shrugged, "A few of my friends, for games and stuff. I wasn't going to study on a Friday night, that stuff is for Sundays,"

I smiled, "And why wasn't I invited?"

He froze for a moment and then resumed his work, "Um, I was going to invite you but then Greg told me that he was going to your house. So I didn't bother inviting you guys,"

I furrowed my eyebrows at him. Well, that's stupid. We could've joined him after dinner, well not we, just me.

I decided to ask a different question instead, "Then why did it surprise you so much if I was wearing a dress?"

I shrugged, "Even though I have known you for three days, I figured you didn't like dresses."

I smirked, "Well, you got that right!"

He chuckled just as the bell rang, he turned to me, "Well, you can stay if you want,"

I grinned, "That would be awesome," The bell rang for the second time.

He handed me three bags of Ruffles, "Take these to the living room, I'll go and get the door,"

"Aye, aye!" I gave him a salute and mockingly marched off to the living room, though I knew he wasn't really looking.

I dropped the bags on the coffee table and heard a couple of people cheering and greeting Keith.

I rolled my eyes as I plopped down on the couch. So, when it's me, I have to go through extreme measures to get in his house and when it's anyone else he just throws the door open and embraces them in a hug?

Geez, I just might be an exception to all the privileges in the world.

I just stared at the blank TV screen for a while when suddenly, I heard an excited squeal and then, I was attacked.

Oh my God, was it the FBI? And they were just so happy to have found me that they squealed and attacked me? That was so un-professional.

I wonder who put this moron on the job.

That's when the person pulled back and I realized that it was Tar, beaming at me like crazy.

Woops, I had just insulted my good friend in my head. My bad, it was un-intentional.

"Wow, Jess. You're here too, now I know I wouldn't be bored at all!" Tar grinned.

I grinned back, "You can bet on it," She laughed.

The other people came in the living room, and I smirked at the people I saw. This was just so awesome.

I smiled creepily, wiggling my eyebrows at the trio, "We meet again,"

Biker-dude and Gal groaned, "Aw man, not you,"

Francine nudged Gal, "Be nice, Kevin,"

He just scowled as everyone took their places in the living room. Biker-dude ended up sitting next to me, much to his dismay. But he turned his face away from me, grumbling under his breath.

Just when I was about to annoy the life out of him, I saw Francine staring at me with an amused glint in her eye.

I quirked an eyebrow at her and she smiled politely, holding her hand out, "I'm Francine, I believe we haven't met officially yet,"

I beamed at her, there was always room for more friends.

I shook her hand, "I'm Jess, nice meeting you,"

Gal yanked Francine's hand away from mine, "You don't know what you're doing, France. Just stay away from the devil,"

Francine poked his injured arm and he hissed in pain, glaring at her, "Don't be mean, Kevin. She seems nice,"

I batted my eyelashes innocently at him, "Yeah, Gal. I'm just so nice,"

He scowled, "Don't call me--"

Biker-dude piped in, "Dude, I thought you said that you didn't... go that way. Are you...?"

Gal scowled, "I'm--"

Francine looked worried, "Kevin, is there something you'd like to tell me?" She placed her hand over his.

He shook his head furiously, "Just--"

I shook my head, trying to keep a straight face, "I think it's time you speak up for yourself, Gal,"

He glared at me, and just as he opened his mouth to defend himself. Keith entered the living room, looking shocked, "Man, are you a girl?" He asked, warily.

And that was the final straw. Gal finally snapped.

"That's it!" He stood up, stalking off towards the kitchen and Francine quickly followed him.

I glanced at Tara only to see that she was completely red, shaking in silent laughter. At that sight, I grinned and burst out laughing as well.

This night kept getting better and better. I wonder what else this day has to bring. I hope it's cheese-puffs.
