Rhodes was talented at the most random things, he was the sort of guy who could do anything if he set his mind to it. His fashion sense was incredible, and he was obsessed with stage outfits. It wouldn't hurt to get his advice before buying something expensive. I had to use to my savings for the clothes, since Dad was already spending a lot on the birthday lunch. I had felt guilty for asking him, so I resorted on using the money I got from working at the Café.
''Hey''
''You're late-'' I stopped short when I noticed, he came with someone else. I stared at Lana with my mouth slightly open. Rhodes came dressed in khaki shorts and sandals and Lana was wearing shorts and a lipstick which was shade of blood. They looked like pals, taking a stroll at the beach on a fine sunny day.
''You didn't say we were having company.'' I said with gritted teeth. It was incredibly rude, but Lana just rolled her eyes.
''Don't you guys need to buy stage outfits?'' She asked me. ''I came for help.''
''No thank-''
''Lana is a pro at this stuff, she said she can help us get cheap clothes.'' Rhodes explained and I silently murdered him with my gaze. He could have at least messaged me or something, if he was bringing a stranger with him. Rhodes rarely got along with people, it was a miracle that he got on first name bases with Lana in span of a week. I would be lying if I said, it didn't bother me.
''You won't be able to afford the stuff here. It's going to waste your money. And, you'll only wear the clothes once.'' She had a point, and Rhodes seemed pleased by it. I got up begrudgingly and took a long sip from my shake.
''If you take me to the thrift store-''
''Just follow along, Princess.'' She replied, her mascara clad eyes glinting.
Lana led us out of the mall and I slouched as I walked behind the pair of them. They were chatting about some 'crazy good' movie about vanishing parents and wicked monsters that I hadn't watched. Or heard of.
Rhodes got along with her so well, like they were best friends and I was the stranger they had met in a music Camp. It was infuriating and I felt a little jealous and left out. He never talked about movies with me, mostly because I didn't watch any. But still.
''Hop in,'' Lana glanced at me when we stopped at an old looking sedan parked outside. It hadn't been washed for ages and the dark blue paint was peeling off. The mirrors were thick with dust and I had an urge to drop a bucket of water over them.
''You have a car?'' I asked surprised, like having a car was some sort of rare occurrence. I was such a moron.
''It's my sister's.''
''You have a sister?''
''Just get in, Quinn.'' Rhodes instructed, sighing.
We drove away from the mall and headed to the Chapel hill road, where a church that was about two hundred years old still stood tall. We passed the massive stature of the building and were headed downtown. I hadn't shopped on Chapel Hill ever, I wasn't even sure if they had shops nearby. But Lana seemed to know where she was going, so I kept my mouth shut while I sat on the backseat.
She was a terrible driver though. The car sped faster than normal, honking it's away across the road. I was plummet back to my seat and held on the belt for dear life.
''Go slower!'' I cried when we took a turn and I thought I would be thrown out from the door.
Lana snorted, ''Is this your first time riding a car, Princess?''
