We stood there just staring at the paper's in our hands for what felt like hours. My father broke the silence saying " son we need to talk to your mother". We both walked in to where my mother was comforting Anne, when she saw us she got up and followed us to the other room. We explained what the soldier said to us and showed her the paper's, she broke down in tears, " I don't want to loose you guys" she cried. After she composed herself she told us that if we ran or went into hiding that they would know we are
Jewish and that if they found us they would send us to a death camp or kill us. My farther and I walked over to the table to where the paper's were and signed them, we had no other options, we needed to protect our family. The next morning the soldier came to pick up the paper's, he then looked them over very carefully and took out two Nazi uniforms from his bag.
