Author's Notes

Alrighty, so I've started a lot of Wattpad stories, and I've noticed a lot of people feel the need to leave an author's note. If you're going to do this, it's a better idea to leave the note at the end of the chapter. It is distracting from the story and will even drop readers if you start off with a long intro note that has nothing to do with the story.

If you're one of those people that will give an AN its own chapter, it's more likely to be skipped or skimmed. Sorry, most ANs aren't interesting, and people just want to continue with your story.
Also, if you're starting out with "keep in mind that this is a work in progress/sorry my grammar is horrible," you portray a lack of confidence in your work. Why should I read it if the author doesn't even think it's good?
If you're going to ask for suggestions and such, I would put that on your profile. And if you're going to leave an author's note, keep it short and leave it at the end of the chapter (I would also separate it from the main text somehow. I use a bunch of dashes ---).
