Chapter 7- When The Useless Becomes Useful

Start from the beginning

I had a feeling that she looked really proud of herself. She's not getting all the credit that's for sure, I was the one who went all the way over there, risking my life might I add.

I nodded slowly, "Yeah..."

She clapped, squealing, "Oh, this is just great news. Did you invite him over sometime?"

I huffed, "Mom, we just met... today, a couple of hours ago? You can't expect me to just invite him, what if he's actually an idiot?"

My mom opened her mouth to speak, but dad cut her off, raising an eyebrow at me, "I thought you said he wasn't just some idiot?"

"And, he isn't."

"So, why are you assuming that he is?"

Because today, I learned a valuable lesson-- you can't just trust anyone.

"Because... I'm trying to be careful?" I gave them a grin.

My parents seemed shocked at that. What? I could be careful... If I wanted to be, maybe. Ah, who was I kidding? I couldn't be careful even if I tried.

Dad cleared his throat, "Well... that's good news,"

My mom narrowed her eyes at me in suspicion, but she didn't say anything, and for that I was glad.

I quickly ate the rest of my food and stood up, "Well, I'm off to bed. Night guys,"

"Good night, sweetheart," My dad smiled.

I headed towards my bedroom and heard my mom call out, "You still have to wake up early tomorrow, make sure to sleep on time!"

"Don't worry, mom!" I called back.

I entered my room and closed the door behind me, I opened the drawer and pulled out my jammies. I walked over to the bathroom to get ready for bed.

Tomorrow is going to be an awesome day, I'll make sure of it.

---

My mom dropped me off at school, my brother's old bike by my side as she waved at me and sped off.

The good thing was, I had my own transportation this time. Hopefully, the weirdoes will back off and I'll reach home with every part of the bike.

I walked with the bike towards the area where the other few bikes were, good to know that I wasn't alone.

I settled the bike there, and pulled on the handles a bit to make sure they were firm enough, and to my horror, the whole thing came off.

I stared at the piece of metal in my hands, oh my God... this can't be happening. I just parked the damn bike, and it's already shedding off its pieces?

I spotted the transparent duct tape that was holding the handles to the bike and tried to fix it back in position, I struggled to put it back on but no avail. The piece of junk was useless.

I groaned in frustration and opted to kick the bike, but that's when it occurred to me that the bike was a fragile piece of junk. Ugh.

I stood there, and glanced at my wrist watch. It was 7:35, school still doesn't start for half an hour, I have got to fix this bike and fast. I wasn't too keen on standing here all day.

I've got to find someone to fix this bike for me, I surveyed the area and saw a group of students standing at a distance.

Target sighted.

I placed the handle inside the bike's basket and went off towards a group of students. As soon as I reached the group, I grabbed a guy by his back-pack and he stumbled but regained his balance.

I didn't know what the group's reaction was, but I was almost sure that the guy was panicking. I didn't give him a chance to struggle though, and quickly walked us over to my bike.

I released the guy once we got there and he turned around, "What the hell you--"

I shoved the broken piece of metal in his hands, "Fix it," That's when I looked up and saw his face and I recognized who it was. What a coincidence.

My face broke out into a grin, "Well, well... we meet again,"

He groaned, throwing his head back, "Not you,"

"Of course, it's me. Did you miss me, Gal?"

He scowled, and looked at me, "Not in the least."

I pouted, "Now is that anyway to great your greatest friend ever?"

He snorted, "Friends? Please, don't make me laugh." I was just about to retort when he cut me off, "And, what's this?" He furrowed his eyebrows at the handles I gave him.

I rolled my eyes, "That's a part of my bike,"

He actually laughed at that, "This is just gold, you ride a broken bike? A paddle-wheel one?"

I crossed my arms over my chest and gave him a flat look, "Your point is...?"

His laughter died at that, but he was still smiling as he handed the broken piece back to me, "I'm not fixing that," He pointed at the part.

My eyes widened, "What? No! You have to!"

He shook his head, "Later, Jess." He turned around to leave but I stomped my foot and jumped in front of him.

"No, fix my bike," I ordered.

"No,"

"Please?"

"No,"

I rolled my eyes at him, "Ah, come on. I said, please!"

He raised his eyebrows at me, crossing his arms, "And, I said..." He leaned a bit closer to me, probably trying to be intimidating, "No." With that, he pushed me aside and walked away.

I glared daggers at his retreating figure. I hope he fails a test, lands in detention, has himself spanked by the teacher and doesn't get in time for lunch!

I stomped my foot in irritation, "Ugh!"

What now...? I glanced at my watch. Aw man, 15 minutes left. What do I do?

I kept staring at the direction where Gal just left, frowning.

"I think you could use some help?" A voice asked.

I turned to look at a familiar face, and I was surprised to see who it was. As soon as the surprise settled in, I smiled widely, excitement bubbling up inside me, "You bet!"

Although this bike was just a bunch of rusty broken parts, it turned out to be quite useful.

WOOHOO... I. AM. ECSTATIC. 8DD

Loved the response on the previous chapter, LOVED IT. 8))

And, well... I just saw that my book reached 259 in humor?? I think that's pretty AWESOME. I wonder if I can push that up a bit.

Oh and, hm... If you guys have some artworks for this book, you could PM them to me. Even if you think they're stupid, I don't care. I still think it would be awesome, since I really NEED pictures for the side.

You guys know what? I'm actually pretty angry right now... >.<

I was scrolling through the 'What's Hot List', and all I saw was... 'Bad Boy' this, and 'Bad Boy' that. I was face palming after every title. Geez. One isn't enough.

Yeesh. =,=
