Homecoming Night Part Two

POV: Amadeus

"Todays the day!" I said to mom. I was preparing for tonight all week long, I made mom buy me a new suit as well as the dress shoes, which I've had for two years. So i went to shoe carnival and bought some size 16 shoes, I have some pretty big feet. But tonight was the night, the biggest night for me in a while, I got to spend it with Cora, while her boyfriend is off doing something else I suppose, I don't know why though, I mean shes so beautiful; I would never leave her sight if she were mine, i would spend my life with her, shes just overall wonderful. "But I dont want to cause trouble in her relationship", I say in my mind. I hear a buzz-like noise and I recognize its a text and I already knew it was Cora. The text reads "Hey Amadeus, I'm ready when you are, just swing by and pick me up when you're ready". I replied, "Alrighty, let me get dressed up real quick 😂😂😬😬". I was playing world of tanks at the time because I am a nerd, I lose track of time sometimes, I'm only human, it would seem I do that a lot though. I ask mom "Are you ready woman?" I hear no response and realize shes in the car waiting for me. So I get in the car and we head off to Cora's house.

I enter the doorway of her house, not bothering to knock because her family is just a part of me as it is her. I said "Are you ready", "Yup just let me...." Her mom walks in and looks at us and says "Oh my lord you two look so cute!!, I have to get a picture". She takes several pictures, so I finally get her out of the house and we leave for the homecoming dance.

We arrive at the school with many many people waiting in line to get in, I said to Cora "Are you ready!!?" She glanced back and forward and didn't respond, she looked very shy but I grabbed her hand and noticed she began to calm down, its almost as if she felt safe at that time with me, "Yeah, thank you, you calm me, you know that?" It was at that moment I could somehow read her, body language is something you have to learn. I reply "I'm glad someone can, you're a hot mess" she knew I was just kidding, she blushed as I said that, she could also read body language pretty well.

  We entered the doorway of the dance, we knew that there was music already playing because when we pulled in we heard it playing. The very first song I recognized was 'Shut up and dance with me', a good song I always loved to dance and sing with.  So we found ourselves a table, was the last one actually so I thought we were pretty lucky.  We both searched the room just getting those small details in our heads of who's here, seeing if we know anyone. I'm a very 'popular' kid at my school, am a senior,  gone out of my way to make friends, so I know a lot of people here, Cora on the other hand is a freshman, she'll get to know people, it comes with time. As we were searching a song came on and it just happened to be 'Shut up and dance with me' again and I looked at Cora and she said "You wanna dance?", "You bet ya I do!". I took her by the hand after I took off my jacket and we headed for the dance floor.

We looked into each others eye's as we got into our little position we had claimed, I began to shake her hands up and down just creating random dance moves, something to have fun with, and I also began to sing along with the song. We were having so much fun, nothing could ever ruin our happiness. After about 5 minutes of pure random dancing, we took a break and I had to use the bathroom. So we went and after that I heard 'my' song come on, All of me- john legend, a beautiful song and a wonderful song to slow dance to as well. So I saw an excellent opportunity to slow dance with Cora, and I took it.

I took her by the hand and led her to another open spot out to the right of the bunch of dancers, I guided her hand to my neck, so she wrapped her hands around my neck, and I put my hands down below her waist. We began to sway back and forth, side to side, turning in circles, I loved it so much, at that moment I think i was beginning to fall in love with her, I pulled her in closer to savor the moment, our skin was touching, it was an incredible moment, I began to shake a little bit, losing control of my actions, i've never felt like this before, I think I'm witnessing true love. I feel like I've known her for years, yet I just met her a few weeks ago, I do something that my heart tells me to do and I whisper in her ear "I love you", I was blind with love at the time I said that, I had forgot everything, I was just focusing on her and she was doing the same to me. Her reaction was amazing because in her eye's I could see that she loved me to, she didn't say it but I know she did. The song ended soon as she had a reaction though, but as the night went on we slow danced a few more times, danced very crazy-like, and had a wonderful night. So the night was coming to a close and it was time to go home, so I walked her outside to her parents where my mom was waiting as well, and I gave her a hug, an extended hug at that, because we knew what had happened at the dance, we had fallen in love with each other. I told her "text me!!" She said "Don't worry I will" we exchanged goodbyes with everyone there and we parted ways.

This chapter was not written by me, but the "real life" Amadeus. I didn't feel the need to change anything, he wrote all of this and I think it's perfect just the way it is <3
