She was banned from the CASH forums and BASMUSH a few hours after the scuffle at the Church. It was like having her house burned down. Or worse, because they still existed, but at the same time they were alien to her. She had become a stranger to her own home.

She hadn't been stealing. She didn't even have access to the funds. But when Dante sent her the news, she acted fast. She moved herself and her personal files to cloud storage and set a cleaner to run after she had left. For the time being, she was off of the server.

And back onto a library computer, this time in Paris. Dante had explained what happened in the video, too.

They weren't killed, at least. Nade was shot in the leg, Mori fainted soon after the scuffle had begun. Vlad turned into light, somehow, and was subsequently caught in a bottle, and Mud...

They tore off Mud's limbs but left him alive.

Dante was the one who downloaded her to the Parisian computer, too.

"Dante, what the fuck," she said. There was nothing that could explain why this was happening, why she had fallen out of the world and into one she didn't belong in.

"I owe you the truth," Dante responded.

This is a story about a girl named Angele. No name has ever described its holder more accurately. The girl named Angele fell in love with a demon named Wareware, among other things.

"Are you telling me that... that one troll from the CASH site is supposed to be a demon?" Atai asked.

"Yes. I'm getting to it. I don't appreciate being interrupted."

"Sorry."

Wareware was born a man named John. It was 1258, Bavaria, and he was a farmer. He uncovered, through means obscure, a certain kind of magic. I suppose that, when the world was young and magic strong, it must have been wrought by a great and kindly person.

It was the power of understanding, of memory. It was capable of imparting ideas through a form more elegant than language. And there were safeguards, on it, because this is a kindly person who first created this magic. The Pact must be explained, and the party receiving the information is permitted to ask a task of the party giving the information before any transfer can occur.

John was a small and cruel person, and he twisted the magic until it broke. John was afraid of death, as we all are, but John was a monster who was willing to trample countless lives to get at immortality, a fool who was willing to preserve no essential part of himself but his newfound magic.
