Girl, they say you're a fire;
And I'll gladly burn than risk your ire."
"They ask me if it's true, tr-u-ue
What would they know?
They don't need you like I do
I'm so down, so blue, bl-u-ue
Without you now, so..."
"They ask me if it's true, tr-u-ue
What would they know?
They don't need you like I do
I'm so down, so blue, bl-u-ue
Without you now, so..."
Ash smirked, drawing her closer as they sang the final chorus, and whispered the final verse in her ear as their friends whistled around them. Misty giggled, knowing what they were thinking. He wouldn't kiss her - she knew that. And so did he.
"So they ask me if it's true
If I love you
And girl, you're the guardian of my heart
So, yeah, I figure they're right,
Girl, I've been loving you since the start."
She blushed. "You're killing me here," she grumbled. "You say you're no good at romantic stuff, and then you go and pull a stunt like this? What the hell, Ash?"
He chuckled, and let go of her, though he kept his grip on her hands. "Shut up, or I'll throw you in the pool. Then we'll see how much of a mermaid you are."
"Like, oh my Mew, speaking of mermaids, we totally have to put that in the play!" Lily gushed.
"I know!" Violet agreed. "It'll be perfect!"
Dawn pouted. 'I still don't understand why there can't be a kiss scene. It'd be romantic!"
"DAWN!" Misty screeched. "I told you last night! No kiss scene!"
Leaf cackled. "Wow, she was faster that time! I wonder why?"
Gary snorted. "Leafie, you know why."
She smirked. "Oh, I know."
Tracey sniggered. "Someone grab a camera - they're still holding hands! I'm sending a picture to Delia!"
Ash raised an eyebrow. "Oh, really? No-one sends potential embarrassing pictures to my mother without my consent. Just Gary about that."
Gary shuddered. "Yeah, don't do it, Tracey. It's a bad idea."
Misty chuckled. "Does it matter?"
Ash sighed heavily. "Okay, that's it. I'm throwing you in the pool."
"What? No!" she exclaimed in horror. "You wouldn't dare!"
He just grinned at her, releasing her hands. "Try and stop me."
She didn't get a chance. He picked her up like she weighed nothing less than his Pikachu, and started walking. May had her PokeGear out, recording, and Misty gestured rudely in her direction. The brunette just brushed her off and continued filming. Though she fought him, swearing and issuing threats, Ash didn't seem to care. Just rolled his eyes and sighed at her.
Why would he? They were empty threats after all. It wasn't like she could carry them out. She was at his mercy now. And she wasn't sure if she liked the feeling.
