"He did what now?" Iris exclaimed, stunned. "I can't believe my ears!"

"That's the biggest compliment you can give a girl!" Dawn squealed.

Serena sighed. "You're lucky, Misty. Ash is a great guy,"

She giggled. "I know I am!"

Leaf scowled. "I'm going to hit him," she growled.

"That's my job," Misty pointed out.

"Yup!" May chimed. "She's right! It is!"

"But is it true though?" Leaf demanded. "That's what I want to know!"

Ash glanced up, holding a hand up to stop Tracey mid-sentence, and frowned. The boys glanced at each other as he winked at Misty and crooked his finger in a 'come here' gesture. Wolf whistles erupted from their friends; and she shrugged. What the heck. Might as well.

He met her halfway. His hand was warm as he placed it on her bare shoulder, and she shivered as he gently placed the other on the curve of her waist. His fingers tapped a rhythm against her skin as she returned the gesture, feeling the muscles of his shoulder beneath his shirt. Oh Mew.

She picked up on the melody and started humming along as they swayed slowly from side to side. Opening her mouth, she began to sing.

"They ask me if it's true, tr-u-ue

What would they know?

They don't need you like I do

I'm so down, so blue, bl-u-ue

Without you now, so..."

He chuckled, and to everyone's surprise, joined in. They remembered him having a terrible singing voice. They were wrong. His voice contrasted hers perfectly - a smooth baritone which made the song twice as real to their audience.

"So sunshine and rain,

Cerulean sky, sapphire sea

Girl, my days are grey and overcast

On the railroad of this train,

I'm your lock, you're my key,"

"They ask me if it's true, tr-u-ue

What would they know?

They don't need you like I do

I'm so down, so blue, bl-u-ue

Without you now, so..."

They sang the chorus together, voices mingling as he spun her around. May was the first to pick up the beat, then slowly, slowly the rest of their friends joined her. Misty couldn't help grinning as they clapped along in time to the song. Then it was her turn to sing a verse. And sing she did.

"So, boy, don't up and leave me

I'm the treasure you never knew you had

Can't forget you even if I tried

I'll keep on loving you, see?

No matter how long or how bad,"

"If it's one thing I know

Life ain't slow sl-o-ow

I've seen time stop, it's true

But nothing compares to being with you
