"Say bye to daddy." I pick up Eli's little hands and make him wave.
"Call me every hour to tell me where you are."
"Okay, I will Tyrone. I'll see you later."
Tyrone taps the side of the car as I slowly pull out of the driveway, he continues to stand on the driveway waving like a maniac until he is just a dot in my rear view mirror. The car ride is horribly long, especially with a fussy one year old in the back seat who didn't sleep the whole way but only about three hours of it. Tyrone kept calling me but I ignored half his calls, this is my vacation and I don't want him taking over it. I sigh with relief as I pull up to Siena's apartment complex. She and Beck live together and have decided to go to the same school. Siena is studying medicine and Beck is studying law I always told them they should just get married already, they are a perfect match.
"We're here!" I cheer.
Eli's little lungs are excercising their huge power as he screams and cries at the top of his lungs. I know he hates being in the car seat for more than an hour so this ride was extremely hard on him.
"Come on little guy, I'm gonna get you out of there no need to fuss."
Even though I want to take the car seat up with me Eli is too fussy to just detach the whole thing right now. I grabb his baby bag and take Eli out of the car seat he finally quiets down once he's out.
"We are going to see Aunty Siena."
The door opens a few seconds after I ring the bell. Siena greets me with a huge smile.
"Hey sis! Oh and my favorite nephew."
I laugh seeing as Eli is her only nephew. Siena takes Eli out of my hands and starts to talk to him and show him around the apartment. Eli always liked Siena, he's always so calm with her.
"Hey Beck." I smile and sideways hug him. He smells like he always does wearing the same musky cologne.
"Hey Nadia. Long drive?"
"Boy was it ever, especially with Eli crying in the back seat."
I collapse onto their brown leather couch. Sometimes I forget just how rich Beck's family really is, the apartment is nicely decorated with a glass dinning room table and matching placematts. A huge 50 something inch TV sits in the middle of a nice wooden entertainment center even the hard wood floors look newly polished.
Siena comes back from where she had disappeared with Eli. "He is so much bigger, Nadia."
I nodd. "He's going to be tall like his dad."
"How is Tyrone?" Beck asks.
I shrugg, "he's great. Going to school, working, being a dad."
"Hey Nadia, long time no see."
I gasped, turning around to see Bently, Beck's brother in the door way of the master bedroom. I can't help but blush a little, the last time I saw Bently was junior year of high school and I totally acted like a dumb struck teenager.
"Uhh hi Bently, I didn't know you were visiting too."
Bently smirks. Damn black T-shirts should be illegal on this guy, they make his muscles look bigger and bring out the grey in his eyes. He still makes me speechless, how am I going to survive the summer with him around?
"So do you need us to help carry up stuff from your car?" Bently asks.
"Um yeah sure, here are the keys. Oh and bring up Eli's car seat."
Beck and Bently disappear out the door and I finally breathe when they leave.
"Si, you never told me Bently was going to be here too!"
