I stand watch as wolves fix up the office. They all wanted to know what had happened so I told them. I told them that Warren insulted Anna and met with Alexia behind my back. Even though they don't know Anna and I aren't mates, I really don't know how else to explain my actions yesterday. I'm not even sure if last night happened.

I sent out two trackers to find this cousin that Warren said he spoke to. So far nothing has been found about a cousin on Joseph Montgomery's side. And I sent a tracker to track the trackers to see if anyone tries to kill them. They don't even know they're being tracked.

Katie walks in with Matt. I turn. She frowns and Matt's brows are furrowed. They don't look too bad from yesterday, just a few cuts and bruises. Warren got the brute of injuries. He's in the hospital.

"What happened?" Some of the wolves stop working. They stare for a few seconds before continuing their work.

"Ruben just got caught with his mate."

"Okay and?" Congrats to Ruben. I didn't even know he had a mate. We normally do a ceremony. He's pretty young too.

"He was with Jason."

Everyone stops.

"His parents disowned him."

I run my hand through my hair. "Where is he?"

"He's with Sara."

I nod. "Can you watch this?" Katie nods. "Matt." I jerk my head. He follows me. "How old is the kid, seventeen?"

"Sixteen."

"Shit." I rub my chin. I check my phone—I finally got a new one. "Jenna should be home at this time. Bring her over."

Matt crosses the yard to Anna's house. 

Sorrow and disgust hits me the second I walk thorough my front door.

I walk into the living room where Sara, Jason, and Ruben sit on the couch. Ruben's face is in his hands and his body shakes violently. I hate being around crying people. I never know what to say or do.

Sara rubs Ruben's back, but nothing calms him down. Jason stands and pulls me into the kitchen. "He doesn't know what to do. Or where to live. I offered my place, but his parents, y'know?"

"Yeah I'll talk to them. I have Matt bringing Jenna Montgomery over. I'm hoping she can help, but whatever happens, he's staying in the pack. Sexual orientation doesn't have you kicked out, disclaiming your own does."

Matt walks in with Jenna and Holland. I guess she got off work early. They head straight to Ruben in the living room, consoling him and actually calming him down. I stay in the kitchen.

Jason goes to the living room and Matt and Sara come to me. I rub my forehead. "This is fucking crazy. Its one thing after another."

"Things will calm down," Sara says.

"It doesn't matter anyway, Dean. You're an alpha. It's not a calm life. You have important decisions to make," Matt says.

"Yeah." I shove my hands in my pockets. I flip the ring over and over. The metal soon turns warm.

"What are you going to do about Warren?"

"I don't know yet."

"Just keep in mind that he should've submitted."

"I know. He's family though."

"I know it's hard but you can't make exceptions for your family," Matt says. Sara looks at me. "And you have the boy's parents to consider. That'd be three omegas and that doesn't look good."
