You sat up abruptly as you woke up from your nightmare, you panted as a thin sheen of sweat formed on your skin.
"What's wrong?" Ayato's tired voice comes from behind you as he pulls you back down to bed, hugging you gently.
"I had a nightmare," you cringed as the memory flashes through your head.
Why didn't you save me...? I'm sorry... I'm sorry... Why did you leave me here in this jail? Why, (Y/N)? I said I'm sorry... WHY (Y/N), I TRUSTED YOU! I SAID I'M SORRY HINAMI!...

"It was terrible..." You curled up against him and sobbed. Guilt numbed you heart. "I have to do something, Ayato..."
"Do what?" He was alarmed and worried about your state. "Don't do anything stupid, (Y/N)."
"I'm not going to do anything stupid," you looked up at your husband and smiled sadly, "I'm going to save Hinami, even if it kills me."

"How're you even sure she's in danger?" He asked, already given up on his previous attempts to get you to stay.
"I'm not, but I know the CCG will exterminate her soon." You ate your breakfast slowly. "The only ghouls who get to live are the ones who are useful to the CCG, Hinami stopped being 'useful' after a while, it was only Haise's presence that kept her safe..." You looked at your food, a sad expression on your face, "and for some reason, I think he's not there anymore."
