I fall off of my bed and my face flat on the floor. I groaned in frustration and brushed the pieces of hair that was in front of my face. My blanket was wrapped around my body and now I was facing the ceiling. My phone did its “buzzing” sound, knowing that someone was calling and it was flipping annoying.
“Ugh… I really need a new ring tone…” I heard my door opened and I sat up to see who it was. When I saw it was only Timothy, I laid back on the floor.
“Be ready in 10 or I’ll leave you” Timothy walked towards me and yanked the blanket that was wrapped around me. He left without saying a word. Well someone’s not in the mood I said to myself, in my mind.
I grabbed my phone from my nightstand, which is just right in front of me. I was too lazy to stand up and to go to school. I looked at my phone and it appears that I have 5 missed calls and 21 unopened messages, all from Nyssa.
I’ll tell you more about Nyssa, Nyssa Valentine. The girl known as the diva of the group, the one who loves to dance and a bitch, well not in a bad way, you’ll know in time. She’s described with medium-length-wavy dark brown hair, green eyes, tanned skin tone and has a little bit of freckles.
I stood up from where I was and did my stretching like a cat would do. I walked towards my closet and grabbed my uniform. I placed it on my bed and saw that there was an incoming call. I pressed “accept” and heard Nyssa’s sweet morning voice.
"Why aren’t you answering your phone?!" Nyssa yelled through the phone.
I pulled my phone away from my ear and got my towel from my drawer. “Sorry, is being lazy a good excuse?” I laughed at myself and I could imagine Nyssa just rolled her eyes.
“You know that it’s already 6:45 in the morning right?”
"Nyss...it's still--" I took a step backwards to see what time it was, I rubbed my eyes so I could see more clearly, it was 6:45 am and I'm late!
"Gods...talk to you lat-" I was cut off by my brother, Timothy. "Come on your going to be late!" Timothy yelled from downstairs. I bid goodbye to Nyssa and hung up on her. I placed my phone on the counter inside the bathroom.
I did my routine; brush my teeth, take a quick shower and so on so forth. I was done and went down stairs. I saw mum was on the ground with her crutches beside her. I ran towards her and helped her up.
“You okay?” I asked while guiding her towards her wheelchair.
“Oh well I’m perfectly fine and by the way, I just fell off of the stairs from top to bottom”
“Stop with the sarcasm mum, you could’ve been hurt, a lot more” I said sternly at her.
“Yes mum” My mother laughed and an exaggerated sigh escaped my lips.
“Do you know where Tim is? I’m already lat–“ I was cut off by Timothy coming from the backyard door, looking furious. He took a deep breath and walked towards us. He kissed mum in the forehead, he grabbed my arm and dragged me towards his car.
I wish I could do something to help but Timothy said that it would be better if I should not bother on what they are doing and suggested that I should just keep quite. Timothy is only 17 and he already drives, I don’t even know how. Mum said I can already drive when I'm already 18 years old. I waved mum goodbye while I was still being dragged towards the car by my dear brother.
