Town secrets

New house

"so, what you think??" Mom asked as she pointed at the old house. Smiling.
" ahh...well, it's um... there's worse houses so um it's good..I mean looks comfy.." I replied
She frowned and carried in the first box
" matt liked it" she said
I shrugged
" well you might as well make yourself at home, cuz where staying" she said and went inside
I looked around, this 'neighborhood is old' I thought...then
I saw someone across the street looking straight towards my direction
'Creepy' I thought and picked up one of the boxes from the car but before I went inside I took one more glance and the person was gone.

" so I was thinking why send me to school...When I will only go for like the last week!" I said as I put the Christmas tree ornaments on the Christmas tree
"because, don't you want to see your friends from your old school one more week before you move down here??"
" yes and no, if I see them again it'll make it more painful...to leave" I said as I put the star on top
"Oh sweety, it's gonna be ok plus the week after Christmas break you get to do more friends at your new school" she said
"Imma go unpack" I said as I went up the stairs
"Don't forget tomorrow I'm not going to be home till late so please be careful and lock all the doors" she said
I raised a thumbs up and went to my room

"Matt get up, it's time for breakfast" I said as I knocked on matts door for the 6th time in the morning
"Ugh matt-" I paused as I saw no one in the room
I ran downstairs and called his cell
" matt, what the hell if your going to go out...at least tell me" I said with a bit of anger
" hey sorry ok, I'm at the store getting my medication. Mom drove me here I'll walk home tho bye" he said and hanged up
I looked at the time
I'm already way to late to school. Seems like another day at home with Netflix. I was taking the trash out when I saw the Same guy from the day before looking at me
He seemed about my age. I was about to say something but he ran back into his house. What's up with this guy
