Into the Nether

I know we didn't have much use for the Nether besides the Wither anymore, since we got those potions, but I felt like I had to check it out. Ethan showed me the portal. I got geared up. I almost went through, but then . . .

"Are you sure you want to go alone?" Natalie asked me.

"I have to. I have to see the difficulty of the Nether now that this game is real. This could also tell us how difficult the bosses are, not only the Wither."

"Okay," she said, "but just don't let your health go down all the way. I don't know what I'd do if you died-"

"There you go again . . . Just admit it, Natalie, you still like me!"

    "What?! No I don't!"

"Yeah you do, and that's why I have the guts to go into the Nether!"

I charged in, not looking back once. It felt weird being in the portal. It looked like the world around me was bending, being distorted, being ripped to make room for a new dimension. Suddenly, I was in a fiery place. It had all this rock so heated up that it was red with heat. Other than that, it was nothing but fire and these hell-type creatures. This place might as well have been hell. It was the Nether. I ran through the area, observing the mobs now that they were real. Then, I heard a screech. It wasn't just any screech. It was like something was crying. It was a Ghast. Every time I heard that screech, it got louder, and louder, and louder. I was starting to get scared. But it wasn't doing me any good. I was paying more attention to the Ghast than any other mob. Then, I heard a gust of wind, along with a spark. A Ghast fireball was coming toward me. I looked behind me, seeing the meteor-like projectile coming for me, and enlarging. And beyond that was a creature nothing but a head, with its intestine-like remains from when it was whole hanging down. It was the most frightening thing ever. But then I got my head in the game. I took my sword out, finally realizing how heavy it was. I was groaning, but also yelling to get through the pain of throwing my sword at the fireball, that heavy, heavy sword. I felt like passing out, but then I saw the fireball go back at the Ghast, killing it.

I felt like cheering, but then I heard a groan. It sounded like a combination of a zombie's groan, and the sound a pig makes. At the time, I wasn't thinking straight enough to identify it. I had already been so afraid of the Ghast. I acted on impulse. I turned around, at the same time swinging my sword at the mob behind me. Little did I know was it a zombie pigman. After I slashed the sword, I noticed it had a pink bipedal body, half decayed, with a pig's head, also half decayed. Zombie pigmen were peaceful until attacked, but this was only one. Only one problem: One you attack one zombie pigman, all of them go after you.

A group of them started to form as I began to get beaten by the one I slashed with my sword. I managed to punch it off me, but more started beating me. I had no choice but to hit them all with my sword, killing them. That just made the rest mad. I started running. They chased me. What was funny was that my feet didn't hurt in the Nether on the other side of the screen. But I bet it didn't hurt for the zombie pigmen. They were mobs of the Nether, therefore, products of the Nether couldn't hurt them. But it hurt me. It hurt to run on this ground, burning. And I was so tired. It would've been so easier to die. So why didn't I? I had something to live for. Natalie. I thought about her, pushing me to run more and more toward the Nether Portal. I was almost there. Just five feet. Then, a pigman grabbed me. I tried to get out of its grip, but I couldn't. It was the end for me. Or at least that's what I thought. I thought about Natalie again, and turned around, slashing the pigman with my sword and killing it. And I sped up, built up speed, and jumped through the Nether Portal.
