I was really creeped out after the press conference. I always thought Herobrine was a coding bug, or some kind of virus. I didn't know he was . . . real . . . No. Herobrine is just a code. He may have an A.I., but he can't break through the boundaries of the screen. But we still can't ignore this. They thought that Herobrine was removed from all versions, updates, and platforms of Minecraft. But then he shows up all of a sudden when I start playing it with a project code?! That A.I. is way too advanced! I need to talk about this with Jeb. I had heard he was going on air for breaking news on ABC to discuss the incident at the conference. I borrowed my mom's car and drove over to the nearest news station, where Jeb was broadcasting from.

I stormed into the station and demanded to see Jeb. "Sorry, kid," he said. "We're live in five." I got frustrated and slammed my fist onto the table.

"Do you have any idea who I am? I'm Mitchell Opperman, that 'kid' who made the Minecrft VR. Trust me. Jeb will want to see me."

"Alright, then, 'Mitchell Opperman'. Go right in."

I ran into where Jeb was preparing without hesitating. I saw him looking at these notecards. "Mitchell," he said. "Welcome."

"Jens, the incident at the conference wasn't just a hacker, was it?"

    "No."

    "Then what was it?"

    "It was . . . Herobrine."

"Could you just explain this all to me?"

"Look, back when Markus Persson was still the one developing Minecraft, there were little bugs, such as how the creeper was supposed to be a pig. That was how Herobrine was born."

"And?" I pushed. "There's gotta be more."

    "Well, Herobrine wasn't exactly a bug . . ."

    "What do you mean?"

He just sat there with a blank look on his face. "Jens," I said, "what do you mean?!"

"Notch was trying to create a boss, one that was the reverse of Steve."

    "What?!"

"Of course the Ender Dragon ended up being the end-of-game boss, but Notch wanted Herobrine to be the end boss. He wanted a boss that looked like Steve, acted like Steve, thought like Steve. But, the A.I. . . . ended up becoming self-aware.  So, Notch had to make a 3D model of himself out of a scan to essentially code himself into the game, make him apart of it. It was essentially the VR tech. Anyway, Notch made a deal. Herobrine would get to do his glitch-ness in the Farlands, and he would stop messing with players. That's why we removed the Farlands from Minecraft."

"Why didn't you tell anyone about this?" I asked.

"The minority were the ones who wanted to give out this secret. I was one of the ones who wanted to keep the secret."

    "Why?"

"We didn't want to turn Minecraft, a game of imagination, where you build, explore, survive, to become a violation of privacy."

"What do you mean, 'a violation of privacy'?"

"Herobrine can hack, not only one system, but several systems individually at once. He could reveal government info to Iraq, if he felt like it."

"Are you going to tell people this secret on cam?"

    "No, I'm not."

    "Why not?"
