Today I made a decision. I made the decision to move on. Of course it wasn't that simple. I tried to move on earlier, but every time I tried to do something useful, I ended up walking to the lake. But today felt different. I don't know why, I just felt like it was okay. That I had the strength to move on without him. All my friends were dead. And I never bothered to make new friends. They would never understand me. They would never accept me for who I am like Arthur did. But today I was going to try to meet other people. Because I felt quite lonely sometimes. So I got out of my bed and got ready for a new, special day. There was one problem though. The closest pub was close to the lake. Could I walk by the lake without crying or hoping that he would come back? Could I really move on? I believed I could
So I took a deep breath and stepped out of my comfort zone. To the world outside. The lake was 5 minutes away from my home. From far I could see it. I shivered, but kept on moving. When I almost passed the lake I suddenly saw something. There were small waves coming my way. It was like someone was trying to tell me something. I tried to look further but I couldn't see anything because there was fog on the lake. I had absolutely no clue of what was happening. After a while I could see something on the lake. No, someone! I was dreaming. I splashed water into my face so I could wake up. But I didn't. This was real. I started running, into the water. And there he stood. The once and future king had returned! He opened his eyes and immediately saw me. "Merlin! Is that really you?" He said happy.
"Yes it's me sire."
"Please Merlin, I don't want you to call me Sire anymore." He said
"What do I call you then?" I asked confused.
"Well maybe if you want, you could call me your husband?" I believe that's the moment when I started crying. Tears of happiness it were of course.
"Yes." I said "I'd love to call you that for the rest of my life. Now I realise how much I need you. God I've missed you." I said, still crying. He smiled and caressed my face.
"I need you too Merlin." He hugged me and kissed my neck. I couldn't stop crying. But nothing mattered. We were getting married. I wasn't a sleep. This was all real. I looked into his eyes and kissed him. He opened his mouth to answer mine. After a while, I don't know how long it was, he pulled back and said:
"Now let's get to work. We've got a wedding to prepare."
