Deep sleep has always been our friend in times of recovery from physical damage and it helps our kind to quicken the repairing process especially for blood loss and bone injury. Our cells could regenerate in a faster rate compared to a normal person so we took depressants to accelerate it further. We do this hibernation within long periods feeding mostly in dextrose, thus, we use exclusively trusted doctors, more so; hospitals would definitely be the last among our preferences since we could not risk getting a history in their medical records.

My body felt quite heavy as I tried to move them but it would be easier if I could just get a cheeseburger. No doubt my hibernation took the longest this time among all of us and I wondered above the sheets about the dimly lighted room I have been. For hours, I thought I could not think of anything and it felt like I could dwell in such peace forever. . .

A knock came towards the door which at once opened. It felt odd since I could have not heard it should I have been still in hibernation unless he knew I should be awake. I have never seen the Empress and I was expecting her but the footsteps were not hers.

"I came to bring what you need." The deep voice almost groaning could only mean someone. His presence smelled a hint of shy, fresh perfume over leather then the scent of meat and fries. Actually, I thought my brother never wears perfume.

Without meeting my eyes, he motioned quite close to me —the closest he's been, so far —just at the side of the bed staring at the plate which eventually he placed over the side table.

"How long was I —?"

"Two days."

"Tell me what's going on." I said.

"Well, everyone's been on the go lately and the Empress is disappointed to what happened considering the loss, still, she was grateful for not giving them a chance to access our units."

"Who are those exactly? The Hunters we keep calling?"

"You see, the Hunters or to be more general, the Resistance, were tasked to find our whereabouts and turn down our operations. They're determined to kill us and to put an end to the Organization. They were trained and armed to fight against us. They despise the existence of hypergenes itself. Their goal is to wipe us out, remember that."

"But they found us. I mean, how could they?"

DK paused. "I'm sure the Empress will take care of that. For today, we are to stay alarmed. They may be now searching for us knowing we triggered the explosion so they know we've escaped."

His opinions have been always right.

"By the way, where've you been during the attack? We never saw you."

"I was with the Empress. She was on her escape when I found her and I accompanied her. I've sensed presence even back to the gym then I saw men in the security. They've somehow managed to disable our alarms and that's even one thing they learned. I could say we were surprised with their improvements."

Mighty men lined up tactically like soldiers with their huge guns held by their arms —the picture was vivid and honestly, appalling. I could not deny they fight quite well but they can try to beat the skill of a hypergene. Yet, I got four holes already stitched for me. I think I'd better prepare for the next acquaintance.

"I see you're all right." DK said surprisingly caring much like a brother. "You recover quite fast, you know."

I nodded. "Good then. Did you get hit? Or just bruises maybe." I said smiling.

He shifted his look but he didn't really answer.

"You must feel bad you can't get a nurse for yourself, er?" I said jokingly.
