We spend
Our whole life
Anticipating.
We are taught
To keep the end in mind.
I am not writing
To preach about the process
Of waiting, waiting, waiting
But to acknowledge the spaces
Between the beginning
And the end. They
Are not empty, nor are they
With purpose.
(They only seem purposeful because it is inevitable
that we learn about the lessons that come with them)
They are filled
With uncertainty
With failure
With every single feeling
That ever existed
But we must accept them
All. It is us who give it its true purpose.
