*****Ahem...RADISON!!!! xD I LOVE IT ;)****
Madison
I stood near the gate of the empty houses. I knew Ray would be here any minute. After practice, I rushed over here. Something told me not to expect him to be happy to see me. I was now invading his place to go when he wanted to get away from his real life. This was his secret that he kept from the people in the world around him.
I held onto the gate with both hands and leaned back. My back cracked and it felt pretty good. Practice was intense today. It felt like I had to cheer away all the feelings about earlier that day. Ray and Craig beating each other up was only one of the few problems I had to deal with.
Kara had a plan. A big one.
She told me during P.E. what she had in mind, and I wont lie, it kind of scares the shit out of me because if we get caught then we were going to be fucked.
Just thinking about what she had up her sleeve for Giselle made my stomach sick. I had until tomorrow to give the thumbs up. I don’t want to. I just want to call it truce with Giselle…but the girl is such a jerk. Then again, we’re all a bunch of jerks to each other.
But this would be the ultimate plan. It was going to take place at the Pep Rally.
“Hey,” I turn around and Ray is standing there. His eye is bruised but for some sad, strange, reason, he wears it well.
I walk up to him and trace it lightly with my thumb. He flinches but keeps his posture up high.
“What exactly ran through your mind when you punched Craig?”
“I was defending myself,” He pushes my hand away and backs up. “You might not of noticed much Madison, but your friends can be dicks when they want to. I wasn’t about to let him make a fool out of me.”
“He didn’t…you almost killed him.” I crossed my arms.
He rolled his eyes. “Quit over exaggerating, I just knocked the asshole out.”
“He had to go to the hospital!” I yelled, angry at his nonchalant attitude. “Ray, what if his parents pressed charges on you or something?”
“It was self defense,” He repeated again. “Its not like I made him hit me, he came out of nowhere…if anything its your fault. He’s all into you and shit.”
Ray walks passed me and kicks open the gate. “Maybe you should date that fucker…at least he can buy you nice shit.”
“What are you talking about?” I follow him through the gate and towards the empty house.
Suddenly, he stops and turns to me. “I don’t get it…if you don’t like Craig then why the hell did you run to him when he was on the floor…why didn’t you ask me if I was ok?”
I didn’t answer.
“Well? What, was it because we were in public? You didn’t want anyone seeing?”
“No.”
“Do you like him?”
“God, no.” I shook my head. “I like you.”
“Then I don’t get it…your ashamed of me right?”
“Are you serious? Its not like you talk to me anyways…besides…you scared me.” I finally admitted. “I mean, the look on your face…you looked so happy to have beat him up.”
“I was happy.” Ray said to me. I looked up at him, shocked. “Jesus, think about this for a minute Madison, Craig and his friends have been fuckin with me since I first got into high school. They beat up Frank last year, dumped Marcus in a trashcan a couple weeks ago, and they jumped Miguel one night while he was walking home from the park…they deserve it. They started this shit.”
