In Time (Cydby) {COMPLETED}

Ch 2: Breakfast

Shelby woke up on her living room couch to the beam of sunlight that shined right in her face. She looked in front of her and saw Cyd all sprawled out on the other side of the couch. Shelby threw Cyd's legs off her side and went upstairs to check on Bret and Chet. 

"Hurry Chet, shoot him quick!" Shelby heard Bret yell from the slightly open door.

"Bret, watch out, to your left." Chet warned Bret as his character was nearly attacked in the video game. Shelby walked into their room.

"You guys okay?" Shelby questioned.

"Yeah we are fine sis." Chet responded.

"Alright, well I am gonna go to Barry's and get some stuff to make you guys breakfast, I'll be back in a bit." Shelby told them.

"Okay." Bret replied. Shelby slowly walked to the door to exit, "Oh and sis, Mom and Dad left this morning to go check on Grandma. She was supposed to come in and they were gonna wait on her at the airport." Shelby nodded her head and exited the room. After a few minutes passed, Shelby found herself sitting inside Barry's house.

"I was gonna make Bret and Chet some breakfast. Do you have any eggs or pancake batter or something?" Shelby asked Barry.

"Why sure, here this should do it." Barry said with a smile while pulling various items out of his cupboard.

"Thank you so much Barry, you're a lifesaver." Shelby replied while hugging Barry. Barry just stood there since he didn't know what to do, it was unexpected.

"If you need any help, let me know. I am the master at developing the perfect pancakes." Barry said proudly. 

"Of course you are. Come on then." Shelby laughed. The two made it to Shelby's house and into the kitchen. Cyd still knocked out on the couch as usual.

"Let's begin!" Barry excitedly responded. He began getting various dishes out and begin mixing pancake batter, while Shelby cracked eggs and turned on the stove making them sizzle. Shortly into their breakfast frenzy, Shelby accidentally spilled some batter on Barry.

"I am so sorry!" Shelby replied trying to seem serious even though she couldn't help but laugh.

"Oh, I see how it is." Barry smiled. He didn't hesitate to return the favor back to her. 

"Barry!" Shelby screamed as she laughed while batter poured down the side of her face.

"Okay, we are even." Barry smirked. 

"Guess so." Shelby added with a smile.

"Well will you look at that, we made a grand breakfast." Barry said proudly, "We made a good team."

"We sure do!" Shelby replied and gave Barry a big hug. Barry expected it this time. I mean they were friends, friends hug... right? In mid-hug, they were interrupted.

"Ah-hmm" Cyd coughed, "What's going on here?"

"W-we were just making breakfast Cyd." Barry responded, "Why don't I go get Bret and Chet?" Shelby nodded in agreement and Barry sprinted up the staircase.

"Cyd, do you wann-" Shelby was cut off.

"I'm leaving. I'm gonna go hang out with someone. I have plenty other friends." Cyd sharply added.

"Wait what? Why?" Shelby asked confused.

"I have to go Shelby, you two have fun." Cyd replied. Cyd grabbed her bag and slammed the door shut behind her when she exited.

"Where is Cyd?" Barry asked as he was coming down the staircase.

"She just-" 

"Breakfast!" Bret and Chet screamed as they pushed Barry off the staircase. The boys didn't wait any longer to dig into the food in front of them.
