Sinking Ships

Billowing in the wind,
The sails went up.
Sailing to a place beyond this land,
The boat has left,
The sails now stand,
It's time to say goodbye,
To those,
Who don't understand.

The water is deep,
Their feet can't stand
Will you sail with me till we find island sand?
The sand that is white,
Gleaming like snow,
That evokes a hope beyond its glow.

But,
You're too tired to sail that far,
You can't see the hope behind the star,
You turn back and don't think twice,
Leaving the boat alone in this fight.
It's in the ocean,
Lost at sea,
Where the navigation now seems,
incomplete.
The boat is sinking,
no shore in sight,
It's slowly disappearing,
Night,
By,
Night.

Holes are developing,
in the hull,
The once impeccable boat,
is now,
dull.

No tape,
No glue,
Can mend it up now.

The sails go loose one by one,
Yearning to be saved despite it's heavy tonne.
Eventually though, the ship had sank,
You watched it drown,
And you,
are why it sank.
