"Jisoo." I say and the boy looks up at me, smiling.

"Hey Areum!" He pats the seat next to him. "Take a seat. You didn't look very happy eating your lunch by yourself."

"Yeah. Jun's sick today." I pout. Joshua is my friend but he's barely at school since he doesn't take a lot of classes and is always really late to them or doesn't even show up. He's probably playing guitar or something while he's away.

"Ooh~ Anyways, my friend-"

"You have friends?" I tease, smirking mischievously.

"Yes I do. My friend is going to be here soon, he's just finishing up a project of some sort." He shrugs, not really knowing what's going on with the world. "Anyways, how's life?"

"Life is fine I guess. I mean, Mingyu is back home and he bought me food from America!" I rummage through my bag, taking out a Cheetos packet. "Here, I have a few left so I don't mind if you take it."

"It's fine. I'm on a diet." He politely declines but eyes the chip packet with longing when I shove it back in my bag.

Suddenly, a boy bursts through the cafeteria doors, scanning the place before spotting us.

"Josh!" He calls out, running over to our table.

"Hey Vernon!" Joshua greets.

Wait.

Vernon?

I stare at the Vernon guy, trying to think back to when his name was mentioned. Vernon... Vernon... Oh!

"Vernon!" I say, pointing at him.

"Me?" He asks, pointing at himself.

"Yeah!"

"What about me?"

"You know Seungkwan!"

He looks at me, surprised.

"Seungkwan? As in Boo Seungkwan?" He confirms and I pause.

"Boo? As in like 'boo, I'm a ghost'?"

Vernon laughs and shakes his head.

He grabs his phone and scrolls through pictures until he finds one and shows it to me.

"Do you know this person?" Vernon asks and I nod, smiling. "You must be Areum! Oh my God, I didn't even know we went to the same school! We've gotta take a pic, Seungkwan is gonna hate me!" He laughs, turning on the camera and pointing it to us. I smile, making a peace sign and he does it as well, but with more swag.
