-Something Corporate, Punk Rock Princess -

On a warm day in May, I found myself in a situation I had wished for for many years.
I was stood off to the side, by the altar of our hometown church wearing a floor length, pale pink dress.

In front of me was a priest and a very handsome man dressed in a charcoal suit and a wide smile. His cravat tie was the same pink as my gown.

He was looking down the aisle where I had walked up with Abby just a few moments before.
I followed his gaze to see Sarah walking up with a happy smile closely followed by Mark who had his arm linked with my mum.
I raised my eyes back to Josh to see his smile widen when he saw the smile on my mum's face.
Up on the gallery, Dina, Selma and Ethan were playing Air by Bach on cello, flute and violin.
Ony mum's side of the church were the entire Ryder family, Simon, Oddball and all of our friends.
On Josh's side were a more conventional collection of parents, sisters, aunties and family. Even Abby's mum was there to see her ex husband married off.

My mum and Mark reached the altar, Sarah took the bouquet and stood next to me as Mark lay my mum's hand in Josh's.

Quietly, Sarah grabbed my hand and gave me a smile.

"Finally!" She giggled.

I nodded back with an enthusiastic smile and turned my attention to the priest.

Josh had proposed only a few months earlier and the wedding had been planned in a bit of a hurry, but it was what they wanted. My mum was so intensely happy with Josh.
They were perfect together.

Josh kissed his new wife and drew back to look at her with a sweet smile.

"I give you, Mr. and Mrs. Fraser!" the priest announced and up on the gallery, Ethan started playing Beetoven's romance no.2.
I looked up at him, seeing his deep focus and feeling so proud of him.

"You're next," Sarah whispered into my ear.

I turned to look at her sceptically.

"Trust me. You're next," she winked.

"Unless Simon proposes to Selma first," I grinned.

Sarah smirked back at me. Simon definitely had his smirks from her.

"I've got my grandma's ring ready for when the time comes," she winked.

"If he doesn't marry her I'll strangle him!" I muttered.

"Oh... he will. Hes practically married to her already," Sarah chuckled and nodded towards her son who was signalling some unsubtle love declaration up to Selma on the gallery. She blew a kiss back, which he caught, as if they were alone.

I followed my mum down with Abby and Sarah shaking my head in exasperation at Simon as he linked his elbow with mine. The slightly corny smile on his face had developed since he got himself settled with Selma.

"She owns you good!" I teased.

"Nope," he denied unconvincingly.

"So? If Josh's young cousin makes a move on her, you're okay?" I asked nodding towards a suited man with his eyes locked on Selma while she was packing up her flute and laughing at something Ethan was saying.

"He can make a move... through my fist," Simon muttered.

"Yeah... not owned," I giggled.

Simon raised an eyebrow with a smile.

"Yeah... who am I kidding..." he grinned as we emerged into the early May sun.

Two days later the newlyweds came to my mum's house to get the prepacked suitcases before going on their honeymoon.
I had bought them a two week stay in Mauritius as a wedding present.
I looked up from the book I had open on the kitchen counter to greet them.
