Cats and Snakes

The painting was an old oil painting of a snake wrapped round a sitting cats leg. The cat was snarling, sharp teeth showing. It's fur was all black and it's eyes glowed green in the depth of darkness it seemed to be in with the snake. The cat reminded me of Jane, with her black hair and green eyes, sitting in her dark office. The snake was a dim purple color, so dim I could barely tell it was purple. It was wrapped tightly around the cats front left leg, and it's mouth was open, facing me. It's eyes were a bright glowing pink, the exact shade Jane painted her nails. The overall painting creeped me out a little. I looked away from it, unintentionally finding a note from Jane tucked under the corner of her silver laptop.
Dear Ashley,
I had a feeling you would find this medication faulty. After further examination, a found it had a flaw. To fix it, I must grab some materials. I left this note in case you would arrive. If you arrive at say... give or take half past nine, take the Lockett. If you arrive at another time, just leave and come back later. Farewell.
