5. Come In

It was finally Friday and I was more than ready for the weekend. School had already let out and I was packing my stuff up so that I could leave. I walked to my car and threw my bags in the back seat before getting in. When I got home it was still kinda early in the day but I still decided to go ahead and get in bed. I put on a movie and popped me some popcorn. This was my definition of fun. About half way through the movie I got a phone call

Nicki- hey Robert

Robert- what's up

Nicki- nothing much, just watching a movie. What's up with you

Robert- nothin, I'm on break at work and I just wanted to talk to you about something

Nicki- ok, what about?

Robert- about our date tomorrow

Nicki- what about our date?

Robert- I have some bad news

Nicki- you can't make it?" I said in a sad tone

Robert- no, I'm sorry. I got called in to work and if I don't go I'll be in trouble

Nicki- it's ok, I understand

Robert- but look, I get off at 9 and I was wondering if we could hang out tonight

Nicki- um sure

Robert- ok cool. We can either go to my house or I can come to yours

Nicki- oh um... I thought you meant like go out somewhere

Robert- well we can go out of you want

Nicki- yeah, I'd rather go out if that's ok with you

Robert- yeah that's fine, I'll pick you up around 10

Nicki- ok, talk to you later

Robert- alright

I was really looking forward to going out with Robert tomorrow so I was kinda sad that he cancelled but I was happy that he wanted to hang out with me tonight. It wasn't that I didn't trust Robert enough to go to his house or for him to come to mine, it was the simple fact that it was way to early for us to be alone. I was way to excited to finish my movie so I decided to start getting ready early. I went and took my shower and washed my hair. When I was done with that, I went in my walk in closet and started trying on dresses. I went through almost all of my dresses before finding the perfect one. Now it was time to find shoes. I searched my closet trying to find the perfect shoes. After 20 minutes, my outfit was complete. I went into the bathroom to blow dried my hair and then I straightened it, doing a few curls at the ends. I pinned it up and then got back in bed. It was only 7:30 so I still had time to finish. I grabbed my red nail polish and painted my nails while finishing my movie.

I guess i had dosed off because when I looked at my phone it was 8:40. I jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and then slipped of my dress before doing my makeup. I took my hair down and ran my fingers through it and then I grabbed my phone, purse and shoes and went downstairs to wait. I had already gave Robert my address so he knew where to come. I saw the headlight through the window. I put on my shoes and waited for him to knock. When he did, I fixed myself up one last time and then opened it.

Nicki- hi

Robert- what's up, you ready to go?

Nicki- yep, let's go

I locked my house door and walked to his car. He opened the door for me and I got in.

Nicki- this is a nice care

Robert- thank you

Nicki- so where are we going?

Robert- I figured we'd go to a restaurant or something

Nicki- oh ok, that's cool

Robert- was there somewhere that you wanted to go?

Nicki- oh no, I'm just riding

We pulled up to this restaurant and he helped me out of the car. We walked in and sat at a table with two chairs. He pulled my chair out and I sat and then he sat. The waiter came over with a bottle of wine and poured it into our glasses. I took a sip.

Robert- you like it?

Nicki- mhm, I'm not much of a drinker but it's good

Robert- yeah, me neither

Nicki- well that's good to know.

Robert- so I know we started of on the wrong foot but I just wanted to know what you thought about me

Nicki- well at first I'm not going to lie, I though you were a complete asshole, but after getting to talk to you for the past two weeks I can honestly say that you seem like I really nice guy. What about me?

Robert- well I thought the same about you , but I can tell your a good person too

Nicki- well thank you.

Robert- can I ask you a question?

Nicki- sure

Robert- why are you single?

Nicki- well, after you get cheated on so many times, being single and knowing that no one is out cheating on you will start to sound good.

Robert- I understand....

Nicki- what about you?

Robert- I don't date

Nicki- why not?

Robert- because, I just don't

Nicki- well I guess you don't want to get married either then

Robert- not really

Nicki- well that's disappointing" I said under my breath

Robert- hmm?

Nicki- oh I just said you'll probably change you mind, your still young

Robert- I doubt it but who knows

Nicki- yeah...

It got quiet for a minute as we sat in an awkward silence and ate.

Robert- you look nice tonight.

Nicki- thank you Robert

Robert- call me Meek

Nicki- ok, Meek. Call me Nicki then

Robert- ok Nicki. Well you ready to head out?

Nicki- mhm

He grabbed my hand and and we walked to his car. When we got to my house we stayed in his car for a little just talking. He was a nice guy and funny too. He got out and walked over to my side and help me out. He walked me to the door.

Nicki- I had a good time tonight, thank you

Meek- it's nothin, I had fun too

Nicki- we should do this again sometime

Meek- I'm down

Nicki- ok" I smiled

Meek- week I'll see you later

Nicki- where you goin

Meek- home " he chuckled

Nicki- But I want you to come in

I pulled him in the house and closed the door.

Nicki- lord forgive me for what I'm about to do.....
